Amore - Storm and Love

Am I the only that noticed Storm has like, NO LOVE LIFE? Why not?! Welcome to a section, where we hopeless romantics pair her up to our hearts content, from Wolverine, to Scott, to our lovely made up comic man Gambit.

Thanks to Benjamin Kissell, we have a history of the comic Storm's love life - here it is:

" In her years traversing the Saharra to Kenya, she met up with the Black Panther, the ruler of Wakanda. They had a short and romantic 'liaison'. When she joined the X-Men, the entire team of males fawned over her, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Wolverine (who even went so far as to kiss her), and even Banshee. In the early years of the team, she met and fell in love with Arkon, ruler of an alien world. She forsook him to stay with the team. When Jean Grey/Phoenix died, they seemed to be ready to pair up Scott and Ororo, however they dropped that idea like a hot potato.

After that, the lord of the undead (Dracula) fell in love with her, she spurned him. Then her love Forge came on the scene. They were hot and cold for a few years, (they were even exiled on another dimensional earth for a year together) until he asked her to marry him, and promptly took it back. They were off and on until she broke up with him. In the late nineties the writers toyed with the idea of Logan and Ororo and then dumped it. The writers only lightly toyed with the idea of an Ororo and Remy relationship. They flirted with the idea of a Cable and Ororo relationship (he is Scott's son from the future, with a clone of Jean) until the Domino (Cable's co-worker) fans got all pissy. In the Ultimate X-Men books she is paired up with Hank McCoy the Beast."

Thanks Benjamin!

THE POLL

So? Who do you think she oughtta end up with?

Gambit

Okay, so technically he doesn't exist in the movieverse version, just yet, but he sure lives on in fan fiction. In the comic version, they are friends and comrades, in the movie, maybe they could be a little more?

Yes, it seems impossible, but think about it. Storm is calm and serene. She's a storm beneath an icy exterior who tells things like they are, and won't take flack from
even the scariest, yet she can be gentle, kind and loving. She's got a tainted past, and is a mass of condtractions. Gambit's cocky and flirty nature seem to mesh perfectly.

So far, this pairing only exists in fanfiction, sharing a big part in the Fatal Caress Series, and other stories (and its' MORE than a desperate attempt for L/R shippers to keep Gambit the hell away from Rogue, I swear)  and have captured the imagination of many.

It's a possibiilty, and a fun one for those with an open mind!

Wolverine

Logan and Storm had one intense scene where they let all the stops out, and both have hidden depths and hidden anger. The pairing is possible at least, and one that's an interesting on to explore. Although this site is hosted by wolverineandrogue.com and I co run a Rare Thing, I personally LOVE the idea of this pairing. They've definately got a lot of chemistry, and their scene together did more for me than a couple of the other scenes

In fan fiction, this couple rocks, and it's definately one that you could play with.

Cyclops

They've been friends for years, and they have a very close working relationship. If Jean and Scott ever do reach an impasse, that relationship may develop into something more.

Because they have such tight control over their emotions.  They both know that feeling and displaying aren't the same
things.  They are both somewhat aloof and in charge of awesome power. Mixing in a little bit of the miniscule amount of comic canon I know, they were both leaders of teams, were they not?  So much in common, and as you mentioned, they've been friends for a long time.  It just seems obvious to me that there are things he can share with Ororo that he just can't expect Jean to understand.  And she can share things with him that no one else will understand quite like he will.
