The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
It's been so long since I've read this!!! Ugh, stupid school and work.
Anyway, have I ever mentioned how much I love the ways you depict these two and their relationship with one another? hehe, sneaky Marie at the end...
So, if you're wondering about the delay in between reviews, it's because I went back to the first few chapters to re-read Mystique's involvement in the attack, and then found myself reading the whole story again from start to finish, just reveling in the awesomeness.
So...does Charles have bad info, or was that actually another shape-shifter, posing as Mystique posing as Tiffani? Very mysterious.
I thought this was a really cool concept:
But their occasional fantasies of her were just that—fantasies. They envisioned her with slightly larger breasts, a slightly smaller waist, and always, always touchable skin. Marie had never felt flattered by their thoughts of her; mainly, they left her feeling inadequate, like she could never quite measure up to what they actually wanted.
And this part was so ridiculously sweet and heartbreaking:
But he didn’t leave. He pulled her arms around him and wrapped his around her and nuzzled into her hair. “Take your time, baby,” he said in a soft rumble, running one finger back and forth along the silver chain at the back of her neck. “You just take your time and say it.”
Marie squeezed her eyes shut. “I’m sorry—sad—sorry . . . that I liked touchin’ ya even though I knew it hurt ya,” she got out in a rush. “That’s wrong. I don’t wanna hurt ya, and I’m g-gonna t-t-try—” she lost it.
Author's Response: AH, you caught me! It was Morph all along!! Heh, just kidding =). No, there's a hideously over-complicated plot device at play where Mystique is concerned. You shall see. I'm so glad this story was worth a re-read for you. Makes me think 'The Prisoner' is totally worth a re-read too, and I should probably go do that sometime soon. Hmmmmm happy thoughts!
I love this fic! So happy for the update. Please keep them coming!!
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! I definitely will =)
I love how Logan rubs his scent on her as though it were perfume. This chapter was a lovely followup to the rough passion of the last one; it's full of affection and tenderness between the two of them. Nice to see Logan's gentle side as you build this new relationship between Logan and Marie, not just Rogue and Wolverine.
I'm so curious to find out who Xavier's agent is. :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the read and review =). I am definitely enjoying writing and developing the Wolverine/Rogue/Logan/Marie dynamic, almost to the point that it crowds out the plot most chapters, but hey, it is a W/R story, so hopefully no one's too upset!
What did Logan say a few chapters ago? Look at them two ferals being civilized? I enjoyed this chapter quite a bit, Marie is learning to have faith in herself and trust Logan. Logan is doing his best to be good for her. Very sweet.
As for Charles, well he needs to try put some faith and trust in Logan that he cares more for Marie than he does revenge, it will be a hard thing but I hope Charles realizes it will be better if he lets Logan make the choice himself. You are what you do.
Author's Response: I like your analysis of Charles. He definitely needs to give Logan room to grow into the person he wants to help him become. I definitely see him in a 'mentor' role with Logan. He's just trying to find that balance--to keep Logan on the right path and not give him 'just enough rope to hang himself with'
Oh I can't tell you how much I love this story. Please update soon.
Author's Response: I will definitely try! Stupid life keeps interfering with my ability to write. Hmph. I'm so glad you're enjoying the story though :). Thanks for reading and reviewing!
So, so good. I just love their interactions. Logan rubbing his scent on her? Awesome. Can't wait to find out who the Agent is!
Author's Response: Thanks for the read and review =). I hope their interactions will be even more interesting once they're under the scrutiny of the mansion's residents. And yeah, yeah, Agent, plot, I'll squeeze that stuff in there too ;P.
Prob my favorite chapteer of the whole story, being a newlywed myself, I identified strongly with how Rogue was feeling, and the last couple of lines just blew me away.
Author's Response: Aw, yay. I'm so glad you liked the chapter and could identify with what was going on with Rogue. I really wanted this to be a turning point for her. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
:-D xXx
Author's Response: ;-P
