I completely agree, Rogue was definitely feeling more than just 'oh wow, hot guy with not shirt on'!! Nicely done Kia!!
I greatly enjoyed the series. Great job.
This has lots of good stuff in it...most notably:
I am now transfixed by his profile. His face is pinched, but not in pain as I first thought. No it is rage. A rage that goes bone deep. A rage that I understand. It is the same rage I felt when I realized that no matter what I did I would never be able to touch another human being.
and: I clench my fists as my eyes travel a path that I wish my hands could. A sheen of sweat on his back gives him a fiery glow. As though he were a soul trapped in hell. A hell not of his choosin'.
Both of these passages pack quite the emotional punch. Nice job. --Wendie
askita- The lifting cars thing came from talking with a bunch of guys at work at that time. Guys that work in kitchens are vulgar at best and they sometimes brought up delicate male situations. One of them said the sure fire way to get rid of an erection was to try and lift a car...Got the blood pumping elsewhere.
Sid aka Kia Mira
Other than a few confusing parts where you switched between first and third person point of view, this was a very nice tie up to the Yester Life series. Well done.
No flames here. Only buckets of adulation. This was simply wonderful. --Wendie
what?! no come on, there has to be a sequel to this, it cant just end this way!
I don't get the lifting cars thing, but it's a really great back story.
