The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
I don't know if you receive comments or messages any more, but I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your story, and how talented you are! What's even more amazing is that you wrote this when you were 17.
I love your Rogue voice, and the way you allowed the story of Rogue's coming of age and relationship with Logan unfold in such a real and believable way. I also liked the way you portrayed Rogue's inner struggle with her powers and the people she absorbed. The way you showed the country's debate over the MRA and hatred/fear of mutants was very realistic.
I really liked the ending, and how it leaves us open to a real possibility of a positive future for Logan and Rogue....but I admit I would have really loved to see an epilogue! :)
Awesome story--thank you for all your hard work!
Oh no! Its over? You always end it in just the right place as to drive me nuts with the possibilities. Like the Dark Side of the Moon, This series was very well done. Kudos.
Oh that's beautiful. I do wish I knew what the job was that she was rushing off to do. Please, please post chapter 8 again so that I can know. This was truly enjoyable; spending the day in this universe. Thank you. It's hard to believe at times, the immense talent a teenager can have. Especially when it exceeds my own in this area. Thank you, again, for sharing it with us.
~Mia
I believe that your posted chapter 7 twice and no chapter 8. It makes a mildly confusing transition into chapter 9 here. Just thought I'd nosy my way over and tattle to you.

Author's Response: Oh man, I did not even realize I'd done that! Thanks so much for letting me know. I've fixed it. Luckily it wasn't a completely vital chapter.
I read this story 4 times now and this is the first time that I have the urge to left you a comment. I read this whenever I feel like my life is not going to the direction that I want it to. I learned a lot by reading it. How Rogue is determined to shed the immature image. How she realized that we’re the only one who could shape ourselves and the only one to do something in order to get what we need in our life. No one else would help us. We help ourselves.
The first time I read the story, I felt an instant connection with the way Rogue is evolving to be from teenager to adult. I had my fair shares of mistakes and I realize so does Rogue. The difference between me and her is that she learned from her mistake the first time around. It took me awhile to get the message and change my way.
And her not believing in hope anymore is something that I understand. From time to time, even if I’m not hoping for something anymore, I just really wanted someone to prove me wrong. But it didn’t happen yet. And I really want to have someone like Kurt. A friend that I could talk to without them being judgmental.
The whole concept of observing others and copy their fine traits is something that I approved of.
So there. I know this is not a constructive criticism but I just feel the need to thank you for producing such a wonderful story that somehow I can relate to.
Author's Response: Wow. All I can say is that I'm so touched by this feedback. I'm so pleased you could relate and that it makes you think. There's really no other reason to write. Thank you so much.
Awww...
Author's Response: Haha, yeah. I had a thing for making Logan adorable back in the day. *pets*
Why do I feel the need to hit Logan with something?
Author's Response: Because he's being DENSE. He can't blame the adamantium plating for *everything.*
Really good story!
Author's Response: Thanks! :D
Can't be all that nice the story about Miss whore...
Author's Response: *winces* Bad joke! Haha.
Sinatra-I Got The world On a String
Expert Choice- it was the song i never would of thought of and the song that made perfect sense for her to play
As I'm sure your aware I'm a fan of your earlier work but I'm a big fan of your current work too- like The Dark Side of the Moon.... hint hint....get going sparky!!!
Author's Response: Haha! No worries, I'm on it! I'm actually backtracking, though. Before finishing "Great Gig in the Sky," I want to fill in that three-week gap between "Money" and "Breathe" with "Any Color You Like" (four chapters). Logan and Rogue. In a cabin. It demands to be written!
Huh. Well, that was different. Not bad, but different. Interesting characterisation of Rogue; it rang true for me in some ways (what with the whole immature teenager thing), but a little jarring in others (the way you described her mutation was very different than most authors do). The writing was quite good and does your 17-year-old self credit. I'm impressed with how well you turned a phrase, even then!
My favourite part of the whole thing was how introspective it was, and the development of Rogue's character throughout the series.
Thanks for sharing.
Melanie
Author's Response: Thank you for the comment! I totally agree about there being some definite oddities (and some things that, frankly, don't make all that much sense upon reflection). But it's nice to hear that the narrative and characterization makes up for it. Reading this makes me wonder what I'm getting "wrong" (if you know what I mean) about my second Rogan fic. It'll be interesting to see what I think of the earlier parts when it's finished. :)
I have to agree with New Moon. I am happily surprised. I am about to start the second part. I can't wait to see where you go from here.
Author's Response: :) I know what you mean. "First" and "fan fic" are sometimes warning flags to stay away...Heh.
If you could see me, you'd know I was giving you a standing ovation.
Loved the pacing, loved the non-theatrics o the developing relationship between Rogue and Logan, the character development and insights of mutants I love like Kurt.
Very clever use of the song titles, btw.
Author's Response: If you could see me, you'd know I was grinning happily. Like this -> :D only bigger.rnrnKurt is my favorite X2 character. X3 totally pulled a Pirates 2, except instead of not letting two black women star in a film (what the hell happened to Annamarie??), they must've thought three blue people in one movie was just too subversive. ;)
My kids are in bed, I'm eating clementines and drinking wine and thinking this is the best thing I've read in a while. Color me hooked.
Author's Response: Woo-hoo! :D Also, clementines and wine and Rogan sounds amazingly relaxing about out...Jealous!
I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting but this is surpassing it. It's well written and believable. Almost feels like I'm watching a movie.
Author's Response: That's really nice to hear. Sometimes, introspective writing can get a little bogged down in itself.
The whole thing was fantastic. I got teary eyed several times. Amazing work.
Author's Response: Aw, thank you.
Awwww. That ending is just... awwww. Logan! Dancing! Happiness! What's not to love? I always get really drawn into your fics. This was just fantastic on every level known to man.
Author's Response: :D I'm so glad the ending's satisfying for you. I can never tell about endings, which is probably why this fic languished in limbo for such an obscene amount of time.
wow i noticed just now that you used song titles for all your chapters..the beatles in this one, ac/dc in the last one and...i don't remember who else in the first story. that's very clever actually, i like it.
anyway...it's over now *sniff*; and it's a great ending to a great story =)
i loved how you brought some stuff about america and freedom and all that in there...and the play-doh ;)
and logan in a suit! dancing! ohhh yes!
Author's Response: What a marathon read! Thanks for all your comments! Haha, I'm a real nerd about using song titles for fics. My other series, Dark Side of the Moon, is all based on the Pink Floyd album.
I think I was reading this last night as fast as you were posting it. Great job!
Author's Response: Ha! Talk about instant gratification. :D Thanks for reading.
he's back, he's back, he's back, yay!! thank you for bringing him back, i don't think i could have dealt with it if this story ended without logan. phew. (oh and i guess i've forgiven him for being a total jackass before. i'm easy like that)
anyway...this was just as amazing as the first one. wow. you had rogue be friendly-ish with scott and with john and i didn't hate it. that's kind of a first.
can't wait to see what happens in the next one so i guess i'll have to read it right away... ^_^
Author's Response: Yay! I'm glad you like John and Scott. Thanks for reading/reviewing, I appreciate your comments! :)
i feel with rogue right now, it's so horrible when men do that...don't even have the guts to stand up for what they do and pull that "it was a mistake, i'm so sorry"-act, urgh i hate that so much!!
(sorry i'm getting a little too wroked up about this, it's just a story, just a story...)
well i guess that means you did a darn good job at writing realistic male behavior, lol
Author's Response: Gah, I know. I was totally harsh with Logan in this section. The drama! I must've been going through some boy troubles of my own at the time, hee. *splits a bar of chocolate and pours you a glass of wine* Tell me about it, sister.
So have I mentioned how much I love that this was posted all at once? Because I totally do. John at the beginning of this arc was great, not to mention Logan and Rogue's discovery that they could touch, and Logan getting back, and just everything. :)
Author's Response: I'm secretly in love with John. And I have a little crush on Scott. And even Bobby as a couple redeeming qualities (his eyes!. Oh, and Jubilee is pretty much a badass hottie-bo-bottie in my book...Er, just don't tell Logan I told you any of that.rnrnI, too, love that I posted all at once. It's such a feeling of accomplishment! Thanks so much for reviewing!
ohh, this is so good! i wanted to read only the first chapter because i still have so much stuff to do today but i just couldn't stop and now i read 8 chapters ;) speaks for itself doesn't it? i'm looking forward to reading the 2 sequels! =)
Author's Response: Definitely does! Thanks so much. Glad I got you hooked, even if you did have to procrastinate. I really don't know what that's like. *ignores nine books for senior seminar research stacked up next to me*
I love you. I want to marry you and I'm not just a fanfiction digging hussy-like a gold digger only digging for stories not money- I have kidneys available for you if you ever need one. Seriously, just never stop writing!!!!
Author's Response: Hey thanks! Maybe I can sell your kidney to pay off some student loans? Or, you know, if you want to look into the marriage thing, Iowa's just a state over from me...(OMG IOWA IS MORE LIBERAL THAN CALIFORNIA, WTF? I'm excited for the Midwest!) Either way, we'll talk ;D BTW, Squee-worthy reviews like this totally make me want to never stop writing!
Aw, I love the end to this chapter. Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: :D In this case, more is already up! I'm not so cruel that I'd draw out the suspense for something I wrote so long ago.
