i'm really enjoying this story. you're giving it some interesting twists. and i wickedly adore the angst factor you've given it. marie needed to leave the mansion. under the circumstances, i would have too.

i'm not sure what i want to see logan do in this one. part of me wants him to go after her. part of me wants him to stay and suffer (ha). what i really want is a piece from logan and jean's perspectives. because a) what jean did (or didn't do, in this case) was horrible. and as for logan, what is he thinking now? he's seen scott and marie together. he knows she's been through hell and has changed because of it. but what happened to her during those 4 years? what (who?) kept her from breaking under their will. how does he feel knowing that he wasn't there for her?

and marie? Good for her for continuing to hold her head high throughout all of this. Great job on the story, hon. looking forward to reading more. soon. ;)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! At this point, I really can't say what's going to happen next. I do have a plan for more twists and turns, but, to be perfectly honset, I'm getting a little tired of the whole S/M/L triangle and I'm going to clear that up real soon. As for Jean, well, let's just say i'm not completely finished with her yet. This is an interesting twist. I think that this exactly what Rogue needs at this point in the story.

She's been locked up for years, first due to an isolating mutation and then in a lab. At the mansion she's forced to interact with too many people. At least "out there in the real world" she can choose whether or not she wants to interact. Ever heard that saying about being alone in a crowd? Anyway....

I'm loving this new twist. I can't wait to see where you decide to take the story after this.

Oh, and thanks for not doing that whole Logan/Jean thing. Yuck!

I don't mind a little J/L action. I actually do dislike them together, but I love when they mess things up for everybody. It's great angst/tension for Rogue and Scooter and even Prof X. I do hope Logan puts Jean to the wall, and not in a good way. Especially if she knew what was going on with Rogue and didn't call him. I can handle the b*tchy Jean, as long as she gets hers in the end. :) Keep the chapters coming!

Logan's got to come to his scenses soon right. He'll see that R and S are only friends and that Jean's the real villian of the piece, right?

Author's Response: Wow!!!! I knew some people weren't going to be too happy when I mentioned the whole J/L thing, but, wow. First, I take no offense at all to the whole "yankee" thing. I'm from Southern Nevada, myself, so I'm not even sure if that pertains to me. Would it??? ANYWAY. I know, I know. It makes me sick to just even think about it. I'm probably going to be losing my lunch the entire time I am trying to write it, but I think it will set up an intresting twist to the whole thing if I can get it right. It's still in the works, though. Who knows, I might end up scrapping the whole thing if I'm not happy with it. Thank's so much for the feed back on this chapter, though. I wasn't sure about it, but I want to get this story moving as quickly as possible.

Great chapter! I like angst, but hate it when writers draw it out forever and ever. Keep it up, though. She shouldn't bow down to him. She's a different person completely after her time imprisoned. She shouldn't take any of his crap right now especially since he is jumping to conclusions about everything. 6 yrs may not be long for him, but he needs to realize she's not the same person, none of them are. I think you have kept Logan in character. I'd love to see an actual altercation, physically, between the two. That would get Logan realizing things have really changed (yeah it's been done before, but I always like when Rogue gets one up on Logan---stupid man). Hehe. Actions without words sometimes works the best. Can't wait for more!

I don't know if it's because the Rogue in this fic is older and literally been through the ringer or what, but the chemistry between R/L in this chapter is INCREDIBLE!! Again wow! I'm totally blown away.

I can't wait to see where you go after this. Logan'll find out soon about Jean being a cheatin' ho and Marie's captivity...will he come crawling? You know what they say, "a little humility is good for the soul." **insert evil grin**

.....And about Rogue and Scott, you're handling their friendship beautifuly. I'm looking forward to Logan and Scott meeting up. That should be interesting.....

All in all, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this is your best chapter yet. Bravo.

I usually like to hurry up and get them back together, but I do find that I am enjoying this. It might go on for a few chapters. Thanks again!

Author's Response: Thank you! Well, Logan will come in soon, but I'm not sure when. It will eventually be L/R. Of course it will be L/R! I can't picture her with anyone else! Can't stand Jean, either. But, no, Logan will have nothing to do with it just because the thought of L/J anything makes me sick!!!!
