The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive

I think that reviewer whi wanted to know about the wristlet was me. Thank you so much for the extra detailed description and for the updated note! I have this and the rest of the "Apples" stories favorited, but the wristlet fascinated me because the words "golden circlet" immediately reminded of another labor of Hercules', the Golden Girdle of Hippolyta. For a long time Rogue/Marie was like an Amazon, untouched by man under penalty of death, and Hippolyta's girdle was the physical symbol of her status within the Amazon society. Her giving it to Hercules, and then Logan giving it to Rogue/Marie just struck me as symbolic of their equal standing in those men's lives.
Or maybe I'm a touch sleep deprived, re-reading fanfiction instead of doing work/cleaning.
Either way, thank you for the update even though you are no longer actively writing.
This was such a wonderful journey, a truly gorgeous read. I have been reading WR fanfiction for two months now in search of good stories and this one healed some wounds :-) I stumbled upon some really good stories (like Ransom's Skin and bones) but they depressed the hell out of me and I felt like Logan and Marie were so off centre. This story made everything right. Everything that was wrong with the movies regarding them, and thank you for highlighting that one quality most fics don't mention - Logan's kindness. And your Marie was truly mature, but most of all endearing. I loved her voice, the pace of the story... And that kiss - it was a truly wonderful moment, a rare gift for Logan. Thank you so much for a fabulous read!
Author's Response: Thank you! This (and the two sequels) was one of my last forays into the world of fanfiction before I quit to write books that actually sell. *g* And they are among my favorites... I'm very glad that you enjoyed this one. Perhaps you'll like the sequels, too. :-)
What a wonderfully deep and adult Bobby we see here! So rarely is he written as an adult, I know it was only a cameo appearance, but I really like him in this story!! And I LOVE the whole story, bringing in the Greek legends was a pure stroke of inspiration, it really DOES make for a perfect comparison with what Logan is carrying on HIS shoulders! Nicely done!! Going off to read the next!
Author's Response: The Greek context came absolutely unbidden, and directly after I made Rogue say that Logan was carrying his guilt on both shoulders like Atlas did; suddenly I had to ponder if she actually knew the legend, and there it was.:-) And Bobby... yes, I thought that he deserved more than being the horny teen who beds Kitty after Rogue isn't "availabe" for quite some time. He's a nice, decent guy, and I wanted to show him more respect than he usually gets. Thank you very much!
Beautiful. Just beautifully written.
Author's Response: Thank you! *bows*
Thank you for chosing to write in this fandom this time. I always love stories that make me sigh and then smile when I'm finished reading them.
This brought a big sigh and smile. I was truly brought into the story and forgot everything else going on around me while I was reading.
Thank you very much and I too hope to see if not their meeting at Thanksgiving, then perhaps their 5th Thanksgiving Celebration. :)
Author's Response: And thank "you" for your kind review? As I said before, I never planned a sequel, but I feel more and more tempted to decide otherwise... *smiles* Cuthalion
I absolutely loved this, and not only because I'm an Latin student who happens to sort of specialize in mythology.
You portrayed Marie and Logan wonderfully, and I loved how Bobby acted, he knew that he may love her but someone else loved her as well, someone who she loved back. It's refreshing to see a Bobby who isn't whining or being an ass or dating Kitty.
Author's Response: Thank you! I have a very soft spot for Bobby - he's nice and friendly, a person who cares (which made it very possible for me that he didn't push things between him and Rogue further when she came back after taking the cure). He's filled with the overwhelming wish and need to "do the right thing", and that makes him innocent, in a very comforting way. I thought I should give him credit for that. *smiles* Cuthalion
Just delicious....poignant without melodrama. Loved it!
Author's Response: "Poignant without melodrama" - exactly what I intended it to be. Thank you! Cuthalion
wow! what a great story! I loved it, I was glued to the screen the whole time. I even re-read it again! lease post another story like this one very soon. Maybe when he comes back for Thanksgiving!!!! just an idea for a much wanted sequel :)
Author's Response: I never planned a sequel, but I must admit that you tempt me. If there should be any plotbunny strong enough to tickle my muse, you'll find the result here. *smiles* Cúthalion
for your first ROGAn story this is PHENOMENAL!!! i love the imagery, the easy twining of greek myths into this modern angsty tragedy. i grew up addicted to greek mythology so i was hooked from the title onward. i really hope your contribute more to this site.
wonderful symbolism, selective vocabulary to carry the right impact, and emotionally driver story. gorgeous!
Author's Response: Thank you! *blushes* I have no idea if I will contribute any more tales, but let's just wait and see. Cúthalion
love it, should be a sequel or somethin
Author's Response: Actually I never planned to write a sequel - but if the muse agrees, there might be one some time. Thank you very much! Cúthalion
Wow, that was truly beautiful! You had my heart in my throat throughout the whole story. Very well done. I can't wait for more of your stories.
Author's Response: Oy - I don't even know if there willbe any more stories in this fandom; this one was kind of an accident, so to speak. But you may hope anytime, of course... and thank you very much! Cúthalion
