The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
Okay, this is my favorite chapter so far! That bitch Jean getting her comeuppance is ALWAYS entertaining! But I must say that for a story on a Rogan website has very little actual Rogan action in it. It's a mark of how great the writing of this is because I do NOT care! This is an engaging and well thought out story with interesting characters. Good work!
P.S. I have to say I'm wondering where Magneto and the Brotherhood are. I would be interested to know how they make out in the war.
Jean is being a bitch. I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I tell ya! Logan's going to be a papa! Awesome! That's great news, but when is the Professor going to get off his lazy but and wake up?
Well, I must say that I didn't guess who the antagonist was. I was thinking along the lines of Cassandra Nova or Greydon Creed. I certainly wasn't thinking of Derek Gordan because I'd never heard of him! ;) I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the you would introduce a totally new character to be the bad guy!
Oh man, this is starting out pretty grimly. War, camps, death. Is this a sequel to "Competition"?
god, i loved this story so much. and what a great addendum to the end, knowing how it finally worked out in the end.
Author's Response: Yeah. I had a hard time finishing this one. I really don't much like how the ending worked but everyone else seems to love it. Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow I'm always blown away by what you write and I fell in love with Donella in the last story. The history at the end left me with tears in my eyes a wonderful story.
Author's Response: Thanks. I'm glad I can bring you so much enjoyment. Hopefully my next story will have a similar effect but I don't know what I'll be writing next so it will prolly be a while.
After reading that last bit of 'history', I've just suddenly had a flash of the show 'Beauty and the Beast'--the tunnels, the secret society, the 'heroes' that kept it alive for generations, all the while praying for a day when it would no longer be necessary. Hmmm.
This was completely lovely and her vision of Julien was perfect. 'Bookworm'// 'Philistine' -- I would have liked him, I'm sure.
And lastly, something rings familiar about the name of Logan and Rogue's son. Is he named after someone special to you? --Wendie
Author's Response: Donovan is the name of a friend of mine who is no longer with us. He died of cancer in 2006. He was an amazing gentleman. I'm glad you liked the way I finished this off. Thanks for reading!
Working on the Conclusion. It might take a bit though. For some reason I can't quite make my intent understood in the last chapter. It comes out pithy and trite. It will be up soon though.
No real surprises--well, maybe the nuke--but the action is fantastic. You do have me wondering if Donella will survive, only because she may be tired of living with the guilt. Hopefully Charles can convince her to stay...
And just by the by, I've loved every word of this, even though it's not been centered on Logan and Rogue. And you have fulfilled the conditions of the site -- the story contains those two characters and they are involved in a romantic relationship--nowhere does it say theirs has to be the ONLY relationship. And let's face it, the XMMFF side of this site doesn't have half the readership--or generate one-tenth of the reviews--that this side does.
Bring on the conclusion! --Wendie
That last paragraph is nothing short of brilliant. Turns the whole thing on its head.
Also, your descriptions of the defense systems and evacuation plans is riveting. Your imagination is quite vast. --Wendie
Author's Response: The Evacuation plan for Have and Haven itself is based on a story I've been working on for a while. I'm hoping I can get my original story published.
There's an oops in this one you might want to fix.
'Donella glanced over at him...'
I think you mean 'Rogue'.
This is going along swimmingly! I love it. Sorry I missed so many chapters, but I'm catching up as we speak... --Wendie
Author's Response: Oh crud. I always miss something. Thanks!
Sorry I haven't been near a computer much lately. You know how much I love Donella and I'm so glad to read a fic on how she has become part of the x-men. Xavier has shown his great trust in her by giving her his family to care for. This story shows the love the to of them feel. Well done!
Author's Response: I'm glad you like Donella. I'm trying to find the balance between Donella/Xavier and Logan/Rogue.
Wytchling, I'm totally enjoying this story. I'm a big fan of OCs in general. It's fun to see how an all new character interacts with old favorites. Thanks, too, for giving Derek some depth. He's got a real beef with Donella, which makes both characters more interesting--- and flat villains are boring villains to me. Waiting for the next update! :)
Author's Response: I will update as soon as I can.Glad you like it!
i know what you mean Wytchling about Donelle taking over. in both Don't Let Me Catch You and my other story Mutant High the characters kinda took over and i'm just along for the ride...just transcribing what they wanted me to write about them!
Author's Response: Exactly!
short, but cute:)
Author's Response: Thanks.
yay! Xaiver's awake!
and cool secret history with Donella. no wonder her brother hates her so much...even tho she probably didn't mean to do it. i understand why he resents her so much
Author's Response: Yeah. I don't know whats happening with Donella anymore. I'm not sure she's just a character anymore. She's evolving beyond what I originally envisioned. I'm just the writer you know.
WTF...this is not a logan and rouge story is an xavier and oc story!!!!....wrong place to post it, sorry but having them both as bit parts in your story is no enough
Author's Response: Calm down. Like I said to the previous commenter. I'm working on the balance.
Oh this is so good. I do hope to see more of Charles and Donella. Hope that jean will give it a rest and actually start making good idea for the problem that will be present very soon.
Author's Response: I'm trying to balance Charles and Donella with Rogue and Wolverine since this is the Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archives. Its hard though. I really just want to focus on Charles and Donella.
why do i get the feeling Jean is about to royally screw everyone over her jealousy?
Author's Response: Because Jean is easy to predict?
Funny how Logan and Rogue didn't need to be telepaths to read Jean like a book. Good riddance to bad rubbish--although now she's probably in a position to cause even worse trouble. Tramp. --Wendie
Author's Response: lol. People like Jean are windows. You can look in and see everything if the curtains aren't drawn. She might be in a position to cause trouble, or not, you never know.
the chess analogy is awesome
Author's Response: Thanks.
another perfect moment to hate Jean! god, that woman seriously needs to check her ego and realize there are a LOT of things in this crazy AU world than her selfish needs.
i reeeeally like Donella in this story!
Author's Response: Jean is my favorite character to hate.
OK, if Derek is playing chess with Xavier, then who's the catatonic hottie in the Medical Bay at Haven? 'Cause if Derek is in Xavier's head, that makes him some kind of telepath, which would make him a -- say it ain't so! -- a mutant, eh what? Abomination indeed! I may be hopelessly confused, but I don't care. Onward.... --Wendie
Author's Response: The confusion is all part of the story experience Wendie. Though for a loyal reader such as yourself I'll drop a hint or two. Derek isn't a Mutant. Nor was he truly in Xaviers mind. Call it a little reprogramming or brainwashing. Something to confuse the issue. You'll find out about it at greater length later on in the story.
What a good mix of the dramatic and the domestic in this chapter. :o) I'm really enjoying the story so far. And I'm looking forward to when Donella and Xavier reunite, even if it is just Donella visiting the unconscious man in the med-lab. Poor Jean. It must be unpleasant to carry around so much poison. I hope she snaps out of it before her jealousy really messes things up! Or until that fortuitous rockslide. :)
Author's Response: Thanks. Most of the time people carrying around that much poison never realize they are until something happens to make them see it.
Oh, I do love the happy baby news! And I like that Logan still cares about Donella and wants to comfort her. As for Jean, maybe there could be a rock slide, just a small one, during the expansion and she could disappear, never to be heard from again. I mean, would anybody really miss her? --Wendie
Author's Response: I can't think of anyone who would miss her in the storyline. I have a plan for her though. The happy baby news was kinda unexpected though. My sister in law who I love like my own sister called and said she's pregnant! It was so awesome I just had to include it here!
