The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
So much is conveyed in that last exchange, so much said, but not out loud. So much further that this story could go, but I understand why you didn't.
Phew!! VERY intense!! The emotions that are there, but not really spoken of, only the half hearted actions brought about BY them. Wonderfully written!
I liked the appearance from Gambit! Oh and all hard beatings logan took just showed how much killing jean took outta him.
I've been meaning to review this story. It's beautifully realized and deeply touching, to see Logan's pain from the inside like this. We see some of it in the films, but not so strongly, and really, anyway, I'm not sure it's possible to show a man in intolerable pain without having the entire film centered on the unbearable choice between affliction or deliverance... and that's not why most people go to see X-Men movies.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for this extremely thoughtful comment. And YES, on the unbearable choice between affliction and deliverance. This is everything I think about Logan's character, in one perfect phrase. You are so right. And it's true, intolerable pain is not why people go to X-Men movies... and yet the world that those movies offer up is just full of it. Just saturated with it. In some ways, I think I'm way more optimistic and hopeful than the movies!
Oh, oh....this is so very, VERY good. Will there be more? Or other stories in the same universe?
Author's Response: Thank you for the lovely comment. This story is complete; however, I've toyed with the idea of doing a sort of companion piece/remix, perhaps with Rogue's POV. But I'd like to resist resolving it any more than as it stands now. Though you never know. ;) Thanks again!
This is one of the strangest, darkest, most intense fics I've ever read, and while it's very uncomfortable, it's extremely well done. I applaud that!
Author's Response: Thank you for the lovely feedback! These are wonderful compliments. I'm happy you enjoyed your discomfort! ;)
I think this was a great story, beautifully told. I liked your pacing a lot, even when it kind of drove me crazy because it was slow. It was a good kind of crazy! Good build-up of suspense.
Author's Response: Thank you for the lovely feedback--yes, my general rule of pacing is "let as little actually happen as possible" haha. I'm happy you responded to it!
I love, love, love what you've done with this story. Not only the story is good but the writting is even better. You manage to make a basic idea really interesting. I don't really like x-men 3 but I can't help but love your story, the sesitivity in it depsite the dark subject and the growing relation ship between rogue and Wolverine. Good job.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely feedback! I, too, hate X3 with a fiery passion--writing from it is a kind of masochistic tango in itself, really.
This was beautifully done. The one word that kept coming to my mind whilst reading was ‘intelligent’. You managed to convey an underlying sensitivity despite the darkness of the subject matter and the depth in your style and content challenges the reader - I thoroughly enjoyed every line. The Rogan aspect is there throughout– smaller threads of it almost hidden but woven steadily together. Very well done.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for this lovely and thoughtful response. I'm happy you responded to the story's style and subject matter--and yes, my general take on the 'Rogan' aspect tends to be something of an exercise in 'non-events', haha.
