Barely Legal Since 2000
Yes, the second chapter worked exceptionally well. I really like it. Your tone is especially wonderful.
Marie is so creative in ways of using a chair! Seriously, I admire that girl. Scott as a maid? Well, I suppose when you live with Dr. Gray...I kind of like him, actually. I always enjoy scenes when he lives Jean for somebody else. God, I'm such a *****
Author's Response: I don't think you're a ***** because I agree completely about Scott needing to get out from under Jean's thumb. Of course, Jean has never been my favorite person though, so there you go. Logan just thinks he is way too uptight and needs to let things go, even if they aren't perfect.
Oh, yeah, it worked alright. I literally laughed out loud through most of it -- Scott the 'good little maid'; Fire him? Call his mother?; Marie's first email --*still laughing*-- I'm guessing either Jubes or Kitty snapped that photo; they're the only two who could do it and expect to live through Logan finding out. I am LOVING this!
Two quick 'constructive criticisms':
I'm guessing you meant '...a perfect capture of the facets of Marie...', not faucets. She's got many attributes, but water taps are not among them. God, don't you just hate it when Spell Check refuses to read your mind?
And might I suggest putting the emails into italics or something to set them off? It took me a minute to get that 'Fine. Fine. Fine.' was the start of her second email and not him talking to himself.
Either way, I can't wait to see what she does next! --Wendie
Author's Response: Thanks for the suggestions! I'm gonna work on fixing them so hopefully it will be easier to understand for the next chapters. Also, facets was what I was going for... I guess that's what I get for writing at 4 am...
First fic ever? Could have fooled me! 'Outstanding' is a bit overused, but right now I'm a little too blown away to come up with anything fancier. You nailed everything from the characterization to the emotion to the 'near-smut' of the fantasy.
I can just hear Scott whining. Tee-hee. And then there's the mental picture of Jean as a gaping statue and Logan tossing paper clips (or whatever) into her mouth. Priceless!
This is a truly delightful addition to the lore of the Chair and, just like Logan, I cannot wait for that next email! --Wendie
Author's Response: I almost squealed when I read this review. I am so glad you approve because I wanted to do justice to your epic creation of the chair. Also, I've read so many bad Xavier fics lately that I kind of felt it necessary to cut the poor man some slack. Not Jean though, still can't stand her...
