The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
Really still enjoying this story-line although it would be nice to see some qualms from Logan over deceiving Marie.
Author's Response: Next chapter. :-) I've been trying to alternate chapters between their points of view, and it's hard to get that across from Marie's point of view.
Loved it! I am so loving this story! :)
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I am ADORING your story...I gobbled it up on my morning commute, but was on my phone so I'll try to review tonight. It is awesome!
Marie is so going to kill Logan when she learns the truth. DAMN. Nice setup for the inevitable heartbreak. You mean author, you.
Author's Response: Well, I did promise to bring the angst! ;-)
Oh!!! LOL....I see why he didn't ask for Scott now! Very very clever...I love how you just slipped it in there...bravo!
Author's Response: :-D I was really surprised no one guessed!
Ah hah! Well, that explains the cryptic Storm reference. Logan, Logan, I hope Rogue kicks your butt from here to next Sunday when she finds out what you're up to! And is this an evil/manipulative Prof. X story? I always have such mixed feelings about those... but I'm loving this one!
Author's Response: :-D Yeah, I don't think Logan had much faith in Scott's ability to destroy his own bike. Probably would have tried to get away with just flattening a tire or something! Yeah, I don't actually like evil Professor X stories either. My Xavier is going to be a good guy. I think right now it's just a little intellectual to him. He's playing things strategically, and not really realizing how connected Logan and Marie are becoming.
I like the slow building of trust between them. And I'm dying to know what happened to Bobby!
Author's Response: So glad you're liking it! Two more chapters until the whole Bobby story comes out. ;-)
Whoop! Good chapter! Logan had better feel like an ass, a treacherous ass. I imagine he'll figure things out by the by. Waitin' on the next installment!
Author's Response: Yes, there will be a reckoning. :-) Thanks so much for reviewing!
Aarrrgh! I was hoping you would give us some answers. What did she do to Iceman??! Why won't she talk about him?? Is he dead?? Did she kill him? Is that why she has nightmares?! Does Logan know about Bobby?? Is it somehow connected to Scott?? Logan's gotta know something, right?? Aaargh so many questions! Btw, Marie's gonna be SO mad when she finds out about Logans motives.
MOOOOOORRRRRRRRREEEEEEE please :)
Author's Response: Ha. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be mean. You'll get some answers soon, I promise. I just finished writing chapter 5. In chapter 4 you find out the favor Logan asked of Xavier ("not Scott..."). In chapter 6 you'll find out what happened to Bobby. In chapter probably 7 you'll find out what happens when Marie finds out about Logan. Stay with me! ;-)
I have started to read this story yesterday and I think I will love it. I love dark-past-Rogue fanfics. I canīt wait to find what happened to her.
Youīre doing a great work. The characters are perfect and real. Just like they would be if this story was a part of the movies/comics/etc.
I īm looking forward the next chapter!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm so glad you're liking it!
Holy cow!
I normally avoid these types of AU stories as they usually feature an almost too tough Marie but I am so glad I clicked on this one because it is amazing.
You balance Maries independence with the perfect amount of insecurity.
I laughed so hard at the "I'm....Canadian" line and the "they got you too" was heartwrenching as well as the last line of this chapter.
Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: I'm glad you're liking it! And that you're liking the balance of toughness and vulnerability for Marie. She is actually coming across a little more neurotic than I had expected, so it's good to see that you are not finding her to be annoyingly weak. She will show a little more strength later, of course. :-)
What a wonderful chapter. My goodness, I wish I had your talent! Such amazing detail. Loved it!
Author's Response: I'm so glad you're liking it! And especially that you like the amount of detail...sometimes I feel like I do way too much of that, so that a few events end up taking up chapters and chapters...it's good to know that it's not coming across as boring. Thanks so much for reviewing!
smooch you computer? erm... while you were out Hugh Jackman broke into your home and rubbed his crotch on your laptop screen. Work? xXx
Author's Response: LOL. That's quite the image. And here's the sad truth. I don't have much of a crush on Hugh Jackman, just Wolverine. ;-) Hugh Jackman in other stuff is just...meh. I don't like seeing him all suave and cheery. I like 'em growly and scowly. ;-)
I understand Author-san wot u are trying to say I'm just saying that Marie should not have told him every single detail of her mutation (she should not firm wot he saw)she could hav told him about the killer touch and maybe the other power (u notice I say "power" not "powers") dat way she still keeps the element of suprise about the memory and power retention. Do u see wot I'm getting at? even if someone is lonely and desprate, they are still cautious how they devulge certain information about themselves espicslly wen the these information make u vunerable to anyone and wot lead u to be lonely in the first place. Tis how people get aducted coz they give too much info on themselves at the get go. Sorry Author-san I tend to want to read and discuss peoples opinion on certain topics.
Author's Response: Yep, I definitely understand what you're saying. It would be a lot wiser for her to be more reserved. To be honest, a lot of it is probably lazy storytelling on my part. It's easier to just get it all out in one explanation than to find time for them to have different conversations about it at different times. And sorry if I sounded short in my previous review, I was on my phone and it's such a pain to type on there. I really like talking about my stories, and I appreciate so much you taking the time to review and talk about them too! Definitely no need to apologize for that. ;-)
I think that was pretty stupid for Marie to spill everything about her mutation I mean supposing Logan was an agent for the government she would have no secret weapon to defend herself coz she just finish sprouting out details of her mutation and basically how to counter it. Been should runaway have taught her taught her about ABSOLUTE CAUTION even if your gut is telling you he can be trusted, it doesnt mean it saying toss your care. Wen I read that part of the story I wanted to just slap and punch her at the same time for the lapse of judgement. Though I hope she sees Logans txt messages @ to the Professor and misinterprets it thereby cozing her to become insecure or better yet confronting Logan by touching him to confirm her knowlege of wot is been planned. Thanx Author-san
Author's Response: I do see your point. My only rationale (besides Marie just being lonely and needing someone to talk to) is that she had to tell Logan about her skin (especially because he's going to be hands-on taking the buckshot out) and he had already seen pretty much all the components of her mutation. Even if he didn't know exactly how, he saw her render someone unconscious with a touch, use their knowledge, and use another power. So she was more revealing what it was like for her to be able to do those things than the fact that she *can* do those things, y'know?
I don't like Logan reporting to Te professor but I guess if he didn't he wouldn't have any reason to stay with Marie. lol so I can deal More soon! please!?
Author's Response: Yeah, it's kind of a bummer, isn't it? On the one hand, I feel that Logan is a professional, and would do what he needs to do. On the other hand , I feel like it's not really in his nature to be sneaky, and he's not liking the role he's been shoved into out of necessity.
See now, I was getting my swoon on until that last bit. :/ I had almost forgotten that he was there to "obtain the target" so to speak. Sigh... still it's a great read and I am excited to read more. :)
Author's Response: Aw, sorry to harsh your buzz. ;-) If it helps, I think Logan may lose sight of the "objective" from time to time too.
Hey, I'm using my phone. Before, I couldn't log on, but now I can - which is great.
So, thanks for a wonderful chapter. Everything was great about it, especially regarding our favorite girl Marie's mutation.
I'm dying to find out about Iceboy and the last part - Scott thing! And I hate you for making me wait! Please, upload the new chapter as soon as you can.
Now, because you did an excellent job on this chapter, I'm gonna wish you a sweet dream (cause its night in here) involving a certain hairy feral mutant :D enjoy!
Love,
Tamana
Author's Response: Interesting! I wonder if they changed the site's mobile access up in a way that fixed your phone access and torpedoed mine. :-P I'm so glad you liked the chapter. I'll do my best to be quick with the updates! Thanks for the dream wishes, and right back atcha. ;-)
I like what you've done with the place. ;)
Seriously, you did a fine job of letting Marie explain her mutation without a case of the blah, blah, blahs. You really got into their heads and let the reader see what was happening there, but without resorting to telling us "Logan was sad" or "Marie was happy." I like the breadcrumbs, too.
Author's Response: I'm glad you thought the explanation went okay. And that you are liking the breadcrumbs. I finally sat down and outlined the story, so I think I actually have a master plan now!
I thought you did a great job of explaining Maire's mutation without it sounding repetitive. I really like their interaction and you can really feel Rogue's loneliness in this. I'm interested to find out what Logan asked for that excluded Scott's involvement. Can't wait for the next chapter.
Author's Response: I'm glad it went okay. This Marie seems a little more neurotic than some of my others, so I'm trying to reign her in a little. And you'll probably find out pretty early next chapter what Logan asked for, if you put the clues together. ;-)
oh oh I wonder if the ice came from a now dead Bobby who ran into Rogue before and that is why Logan doesn't want Scott to know????? Hummm. Love it.
Author's Response: Hmmm...some of that is right. But I won't tell you which part. :-D
I really enjoyed the beginning of this story, hope to read more soon.
Author's Response: So glad you liked it! I should be posting more by the end of this week. :-)
his face being messed up :)
Author's Response: Ah, thanks for answering. I would have wondered forever!
oohhhh I like it, I like it! More please!
Author's Response: Coming right up!
hey, good start. really look forward to reading more... hobbits away, hey!
Author's Response: Glad you're liking it! Thanks for reviewing!
Canadian! Heh. Lucky I'm not allowed to drink coffee near the laptop anymore ... I really like the tone you are setting here; them bonding over mutual mutie protecting gives me the warm fuzzies. I can see a rocky read ahead when Marie finds out about the X-mansion, but I am sure you'll give us some more bonding moments to ooh over before the shit hits the fan. Looking forward to it!
Author's Response: Glad you're liking it! And yes, you're quite prescient about the rocky road ahead, and the bonding in the meantime. Now you know as much as I do!
