I like your solution for getting her to go with Scott. Very elegant because it flows organically out of the previous part of the narrative. All of the characterizations are pitch perfect. Nice!

I was worried that she caved a little too easily, but in my mind she knew she was basically incapacitated by our little feral duo in her head, so if it came down to Magneto or the X-geeks, she chose the lesser of two evils. Good, they were able to retrieve her and now she and Logan are under the same roof. I hope her inner Logan/Wolverine are able to get through to her and the real Logan is able to get her to understand and forgive him. I loved how she can't manage both Logan and Wolverine in her head and how tenacious they are with trying to get her to listen. BTW, I loved the "I'll go but the whiskey is coming with me" line.
I can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Yeah, I can't claim they will be in harmonious accord, but at least they are in close proximity, right? Yeah, I can imagine as stubborn as Logan is, having him in your head trying to convince you of something would drive you just batty. In my mind, when he says "Marie..." it has the ring of "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" ;-) I'm glad you liked that line. The next chapter is written. The beginning was freakin' impossible to get down, but it picked up once I got back into dialogue. :-D

Poor Marie, I can only imagine the inner conflict she had going on, then adding in all the personalities, it's no wonder she was banging her head. :/ Hopefully, she'll let Logan help her before long and they can work things out.

Author's Response: Ayup. Hell hath no fury like a woman who finds out she was just a mission. ;-) I'm so glad the payoff was worth it, I had been building it up so much it seemed really short to me when I wrote it out! And even more amazingly, I think I have a plan for the rest of the fic!

Well the cat’s out of the bag so to speak – really liked the dialogue used in the phone call and again loving the text messages – great way to finish a chapter! To ease the ‘messiness’ I hope Marie takes a peak at what she would have gained from draining Logan, you have a lot of possibilities there. Great stuff, keep it up!

I went back and forth on whether it was necessary to sign Rogue's name or not, but I didn't want it to be confusing, especially since she calls Professor X "Wheels." Thanks so much for reviewing! I appreciate people who are actually able to plan out a plot. I really do, even though I usually have no idea what's going to happen in my own stories until I'm writing them. Plotting means you write faster, right? 'Cause that would be awesome. I love this story. It's very tense, and I've been expecting this chapter the whole time.
Author's Response: Ha, well I can't claim to be a good plot-planner. This started out with, "what if they fought together before they even knew each other" and went to "Logan has to stick with Marie, so I'll give him a reason to do so," and that pretty much carried me through the betrayal. Now I'm working the kinks out of the last part. I'm so glad you're liking the story. Thanks so much for reviewing!

An update--- whoop! Normally I'm not a smut-fan and tend to shy away from NC-17 and the like, but I'm just really digging your Marie and the whole set-up of this story, so I'm sticking with it. I like that she had enough of a sense of self-preservation to not tell Logan about her ability to flip him like a burger. Looking forward to the next chapter!

As much as I love Wolverine (and Rogan) I loved when he got his a** kicked! He deserved it - feeling guilt or not - he really DID deserve it. I'm on team Rogue. But please post the new chapter soon - I hate seeing Marie and Logan seperated.

So, I'm eating lunch at my desk and reading this, and I realize that I've had a bite of spaghetti poised on a fork in front of my mouth for a good two minutes while reading the first part of this chapter. Nice.
And then...I knew it was coming, but still. I feel so bad for her!! I hope that he projected his feelings strongly enough that she knows how conflicted he was, and how much he wants her. GREAT CHAPTER!! Can't wait for more!

Ay caramba. That's one hell of a setdown. Possibly one of the best chapters I've ever read in fic, full stop. Gorgeously erotic to start, tense and plotty in the middle, turns poignant as GrumpyLogan gets the guilts, then ... wham. Denouement. But there's hope for the future ... crazygood work. *breaths*

Wow, excellent chapter--very sexy, visceral and heartrending! I feel so bad for both of them, the pain they are in due to misunderstandings. You really did an excellent job showing how torn up Logan is over Marie, how guilty he feels and so out of control and desperate for her. His confession to Xavier and his refrain of "what did I do" spoke volumes of the depths of his feelings for her. The poor guy's crazy about her and now he's going to be out of his mind and racked with guilt and pain when he wakes up and realizes that she's gone. I'm actually more worried about Marie--that she's going to do something rash/dangerous in her current state. She's vulnerable and in pain, which is clearly not a good combination. I hope that Logan can find her quick and make her understand. I wonder if she'll figure out the truth and that he really cares about her since she did touch him or did she just lock his presence away like she did with Magneto and is ignorant of his true feelings. Please update soon because I have to know! And I hope your writer's block clears up super fast too!
BTW, the chapter's title "The Complication" is a major understatement. LOL!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your very detailed review! Yes, I did bring on the angst. I'm glad Logan's point of view came across. It's always so hard to write emotion for him, because he's never like, "Oh, I feel so sad," or "Oh, I feel so angry." With him it's all gut feelings and physiological cues. And if you've read the next chapter already, you'll know that you were very on-target about Marie's reaction, but luckily our B-team heroes swooped in to retrieve her. ;-) And yeah, I love it when the chapter titles can have double meanings (like "The Attraction" was the roadside attraction and Logan's attraction to Marie) but The Complication covers about five different things in this chapter I think!

Okay first chapter 6 - I love the way you so elegantly made Bobby both a hero and a villian. It was excellent. Second, we knew this was going to get worse before it got better so I am not overly distraut. I do find a little bit of hope in the fact that Marie did touch Logan and will hopefully get some of what he was feeling and going through. Wouldn't it be funny if his bite mark didn't heal even after she got his healing ability? (but see I am an evil Fate that way.)

It seemed to me to fit his personality -- that he'd get caught up in the cops-and-robbers drama of the Brotherhood but not really understand what Magneto was meaning when he spoke generally of sacrifices, etc. I'm glad you're not overly distraught about Logan and Marie's estrangement. I promised y'all a happy ending, so that takes some of the edge off. ;-)
