Barely Legal Since 2000
I usually save comments until the final chapter, but I just have to say....WOW! the intro to this story packed one hell of a punch! I cant wait to read this through.
WOW!! This chapter was really erotic!!
Just finished this wonderful story, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw what could be under Xavier's exterior. My son always said I was paranoid but I knew if I could see it all ending badly I couldn't be the only one. I just loved this entire journey, and you are one of my favorite authors.
Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback! I've always had doubts about Xavier, that the house is a cage and the bars are gilded but they still make a cage. Plus the comic versions and cartoon versions aren't always as nice as people think, he is after all haunted by his own demons and subconscious self. At least Logan shows his and reacts as anyone would, if you liked this have a flick through the others I've done, Xavier in my fics is usually creepy or nasty. But thanks again for the feedback it's really apprecaited.
Wow, this was really dark. But in a good way. I love it!
loved it, well worth the long and ardous read. Lots of things to say, but don't feel like typing it all out. It was definately great, and I enjyed reading it!
This is a fantastically imaginative, exciting, and character-driven story, nearly ruined by some occasionally awkward writing, poor grammar in spots - especially with proper usage of verbs and tenses- sometimes misleading use of pronouns, and the usual confusion in the correct use of contractions so many writers are guilty of -- your, you're, their, they're, there, etc. The nagging mistakes which continuously litter the text throughout detract from even a terrific story like this one, especially when one is gobbling it up like a starving person. I really loved the characters and the action, but too often was brought to a screeching halt with every technical glitch or awkward construction encountered. It is too good a story not to have another serious beta read and just a little judicious editing to really tighten it up. For all my criticism, however, I congratulate you on a wonderful story!
Hi! I just spent all day reading this fic. It was totally not what i was expecting. The range of emotion in this was just amazing. I could really feel Logans belief that he was an animal and Maries total belief that he wasn't. The 'Rape' Was hard to read but I think it added a layer to both Logan and Marie that only strengthened their bond in the long run. Mrie needed to know how Logan was when he lost control. Especially since she was incorperating more and more of his traits. I loved how she became strong, and lethal, an equal to Wolverine. Xavier (I noticed you spelled that wrong A Lot, along with realized.) was positively evil and his disregard for everyone around him really chilled me. I was cheering when they killed him. Poor Jean. Though if I were her i would have KILLED Scott!! The seconary characters were in depth and added to the element of betrayal and over all emotion to the whole fic. I really enjoyed it!
Absolutely Amazing - i was hooked from start to finish, this is definately one of the best stories i've read ... and i've read thousands ....So descriptive without getting boring, not everyone seems to be able to pull that off with the longer stories. Congratulations on a wonderful piece of writing.
Author's Response: Thank you for the feedback it was a long slog but I think it was worth it in the end. I try to keep it as real as possible for the characters involved and I'm glad you persevered with it. Thank you so much for leaving your thoughts with me it *is* appreciated, hugely. Hugs Jo.
Oh, and I forgot to mention how gigglingly thrilled I was to see Mac Taylor make a cameo appearance back in chapter #49! It's exactly how he'd act/react; you nailed the character!
I've been on vacation for the last 2 weeks and only just got back online via *dial-up*!! What a wonderful surprise to find the story completed! Exactly what I needed after suffering through WRFA withdrawal!
Absolutely LOVED the last chapters; was a little scared you were going to keep us hanging after introducing that strange 'drying' death-weapon. Thank for not doing that.
Really, really liked that you brought back Mason, brought the whole thing around very nicely, to complete the circle! Bravo, my dear, bravo! A wonderfully involving piece that always kept me waiting with bated breath for the next chapter.
I have enjoyed every inch of this journey. Thank you!
Awwww the perfect end!
Great story!
That ovulation sniffer thing is really handy!
I'm lovin' this story. The waves of adventure/excitement/respite/danger are intoxicating.
This was a deep, elegant, almost painful chapter, but one phrase made me lose it. ROFLMAO!
Author's Response: Which phrase was it Wolf? PLEASE tell me!!
A very powerful couple of chapters, Jo. I sort of expected more......*something* for the chapter of Xavier's death; but it came across just right. A just right amount of rightous indignantion from him, a just right amount of fear, I even snickered (probably evilly) when he protested to Logan 'you can't let her (Emma) do this!' Who's he kidding??
But this #48; wow. Just wow. Such a beautifully written piece given the circumstances that bring everyone to the places they are at. Kitty & Pete finally able to come together and put the evil old man that was stuck between them to rest. Jubes being able to get Hank to see that they now have choices to make *of their own free will*, Loan and Marie renewing their own personal vows to one another. The only thing I don't really know what to think about is Storm. The whole bit about her opinion of Logan becoming solidified due to his urinating on X's ashes. I can't really see her being that narrow minded. Maybe it's because she hasn't totally come to terms in her own mind of how culpable she is also in all of X's crimes and she's just misplacing her own guilt. But as far as "taking Marie down with him"; even /she/ has to see the Logan really saved her - in so many ways; the most telling of which is Marie's ability to control her mutation. Are you planning on bringing her fully around, Jo? I hope so, because someone as spiriual as Ororo *should* be able to eventually see it all, even her own faults and frailties, when put into the big picture.
Great read, really, Really, REALLY looking forward to the next chapters!!
Whoa, you're really taking him down, aren't you, Jo? IMO, plainly, the folder Emma held is enough for my vote to be cast already, but Logan is right, it *ALL* has to come out, in order for everyone to know the depth to which some can sink. Even those that are suppose to be on 'your' side.
That was a great update. The story itself was absolutley fantastic and i really cant wait to read more.
Caught up now... really intense!
So where is the next chapter?
This getting really intense, and you're doing a grand job of the suspense.
Lovely, warming chapter. They've been through a war already, and this installment made a lot of repairs to damaged souls.
It's so good to see them able to laugh again! I'm glad they've finally gotten to the meeting place; it'll be good to have the gang all together again.
(FYI - 4th paragraph from bottom, last sentence...I think you meant to say... "about to congratulate her on snagging Hank when Logan beat her to the punch." Not... "about to congratulate her on snagging Howard when Logan beat her to the punch.")
Author's Response: No honey, she got it *wrong* she thought Jubes was after Howard not Hank! Thats why Logan saved her bacon lol.
OH! Man! I can't believe I totally missed that!! DUH!
Oh dear, quite a chapter I think in many ways. I'll try to leave better fb later.
*hugs* Loved it too, btw. :D
Aw, this was so touching. That whole last scene. The exchange of honest handshakes and how they are able to hope. *pets them*
Also was it a way for destiny to tell Jubes she would be seeing Logan soon or does Logan have cousins around? ;D
Author's Response: There ARE decent people out there you just have to look harder for them. Logan's luck had to change sometime didn't it?
Not a cousin, something a little more familial....after all he *has* crossed the damn continent more times than the railway lines and he *isn't* a monk. LOL.
Beautiful! Just beautiful! I know all the warm fuzzies won't last for long, but thank you for a relatively calm, uneventful chapter. And for reuniting at least some of the crew. The Logan look-alike security guard definitely has my curiousity peaked! Whatcha gonna do with him, Jo? Huh? Huh?
Author's Response: The calm is here for a while, so enjoy it while you can...there will be a reckoning soon with Xaiver....will he get a death sentence or not? Will he be allowed to live with his powers destroyed? All will come in time....
And as for the security guard, Logan is *quite* old, he does travel a lot and he has many many women who remember him, even some who are now in retirement homes. Just know this, his genetics are out there, just that Jubes met up with one of the branches of his fruitful loins (wink-wink).
