This is what I love about Rogan...you can write them in so many ways and its believable...(well most of the time) but this fic? Totally blew my mind. Thanks for sharing :)

This is a very sad one. No emotions whatsoever. He takes her, doesn't ask what she needs. What she wants. And she lets him. Just like that. He's draining her warmth until, one day, she will be just as cold, and they will end up bitter and hating each other. She has to wake up and get through to him, or else.... very sad. Powerful, though.

This story leaves me with a definite sense of melancholy. There seems to be some kind of emotional connection between them, but it's just out of reach, just beyond clear focus. It's something they'd have to work at to find, and I don't think they have the drive to work for it.
He's not doing the "wham, bam, thank you ma'am"; but he's no Prince Charming either.
"There are worse ways to pay the rent, really."
This says it all. It seems, sadly enough, that he's turning her into him. Cold not only in actual temperature, but emotionally too. Very powerful writing.
Author's Response: Thanks! As I said in my earlier responses, I *was* feeling wierd when I wrote this. Hmm... Turning in to him? Didn't even think about it that way. Wow! Now that I read this one through again, I think you're right.

I don't actually *like* this fic in a way. At the same time, I think it's incredible. I think you managed a kind of detached description throughout that was indicative of Rogue's state of mind, her body-mind disconnect, how good everything can feel, how certain even when you're down and know nothing about what's really going on.
And the sex was *incredibly* hot! More hot, somehow, because Wolverine was intimate but not particular. He made a deal. He got what he wanted. But neither of them are getting what they need. Wolverine is so fucking cold. I think they both are.
Author's Response: Don't know why, but at the moment everything I try, all the fics I try to write come out like this. I have a good life, great hubby, lovely kid and a cat that drives me nuts. Yet I feel somehow detatched, and that feeling leaks to my writings. Probably have to put aside WIP's until I feel normal again.
Yup. They're both cold. I'm not sure if Marie has always been this cold, or did the shock of seeing 'uncle Logan' again after five year's absence and his proposal made her like that.

Hmmm...... I like this story. Poor Logan and Marie. Interesting that you had Logan know her since childhood. I do wish we had a little of Logan's point of view here. I would have liked to know that they fell in love or something. oh well... good story.
Author's Response: Not all stories have a happy ending. In this one... I guess it's kind of blurred. They both got what they needed. are they happy? I don't know. Do they love each other? I don't know. Logan's thoughts over this matter? This was actually one of those rare moments that Logie kept quiet and let Marie do all the talking while I wrote this down. I don't know what he thinks about in this one.
