With such helpful neighbours, I would be suspicious enough at this stage to consider running again ;-)
But at least I could imagine what Anabel and Mick are up to here.

*runs off to read Wolfen*
WTF Logan simply left... *growls*
Sad! But Gods, I love this story, every chapter. Carry on, dearest!
And why do I grow suspicious with the 'too-easy' and 'too-neat' -ness of this village? Something's afoot!
Ooh! Fantastic twist. Am intrigued that this may be even more than just Logan wanting to protect Marie, because I'm a sucker and am hooked with just that.
and poor Marie in this chapter. *pets* Poor, poor horny Marie. I love the quiet moment where she realizes that she must be crying. Weeks since they've been parted? Oh, poor Logan. I wonder if he's out there trying for a cure now.
Salem?... oh jeez...
Author's Response: Just a name. Just a name... Or is it? ;)
Well, Marie, don't wring your conscience too much over it. There are more things than one needs than just safety and care, and more people than just the one love.
She had stated quite clearly what she wanted and needed, giving her man all the info he needed to work things over - even the chance to think them over with HER, which is something many women (unwisely) refrain from.
If he then stubbornly wants to interpret as "YOU change it all for e or your are not good enough for me any more", tough luck. "Keeping your woman happy" sometimes takes much less than the guys tend to think - he just has to stop trying to do all the keeping himself and take the chance to let her participate in the keeping. It's called partnership, gentlemen!
Still, I wonder what he's up to now.
Author's Response: Still, I wonder what he's up to now.

You're not the only one. But I have a feeling that there was something more behind this than just his hurt pride and need to keep Marie safe.
And as for Marie, I think there's something new coming along her way. :)
Ouch! Hope this all works out. It's a painful chapter, but well done.
typical male *sigh* an we (females) both love them and hate them for their fragile egos...just set a trap and molest him already!! alpha male meet alpha female...cold hungry, fustrated apha female
No... that's not good. Update soon!!
What a declaration of love in an unlikely place and from a slightly less than romantic creature! ("I’d much rather curl at your feet as a beast than cry over your grave as a man.")
Ah, but yes, power is hard to resist, sin't it? And as long as Logan fights, the Wolverine will not win over - but what happens if you lose not the will, but even the wish to fight? A lot of castles have been taken by entry throught back doors.
Author's Response: Yup. There's always a loophole. Sometimes it works for you, sometimes it works for the foe. We'll just have to see who gains the upper hand in this. :)
Well there sure a situation where being bigger and meaner helps a lot.
Damn, I thought Claude was the vampire that got Marie, guess not. :P Tell Rasputin (that's what I named him since it isn't Claude) he can't hide from Logan forever, he has a really good sense of smell! At what is Maries's problem? So he likes to be big n' mean and warm n' fuzzy all at the same time, nothing wrong with that. At least, nothing that a dead chick can complain about. *g* So no sex, neither one of them probably smell that 'great' anyway.
Author's Response: It was Claude. Marie's safe now, she won't turn in to a vampire, but she won't become alive again before the sun rises. No sex? You're going to tag along with the sexiest man on the face of the earth and you can't have sex with him, and she's supposed just to shrug and accept it? I don't think so. :)
Wheeeow. Wow. They are getting into dark regions all right here.
Good for all of us who thought the Wolverine attractive in the original sense of the word: Flirting with the dark soon gets you into some ugly mess.
But also: Marie loses all this goddamn virginal innocence. Might be good, might be bad - depending whether she can handle the experience and mature, or whether it will breed some weird progeny inside her soul.
She might come out Logan's equal - whatever he will be after his own mutations.
Didn't they strike a deal in earlier chapters - wherein Logan would allow the lycan control of his body several days in a month? Or am I remembering wrongly? I thought that's why they allowed Wolverine (and Logan) to live?
Author's Response: That deal ended when Logan chickened out. He felt like he was loosing control completely. Wolverine retaliated attacking Marie, and now our poor Wolvie is quite unwanted person.
Claude! I like this twist, although I suppose I should have seen it coming. We haven't met any other characters in this story, apart from the already-dead brother.
I love that detail about the vampire and the lycan in the well, and how the lycan was the one they had to finish off. It's interesting that the those two 'species' never band together against humans where they seek to kill them. Maybe their powers give them a false sense of security, and so like competing predators, they fight amongst themselves, making it easier for humans to trap and kill them.
What made Logan's lycan strike a deal with him for partial control of his body? Now it seems a little odd, like there is a question as to whether a not a host can fully 'accept' the lycan form. Is there a moral element to surrendering to the vampire or lycan demon?
Author's Response: Strike a deal? I guess I left that part too vague. Or got mixed up myself. I hope not. But idea was, that all the extra silver in logan's body from Marie's bracelets and the cure is the thing keeping Wolverine down to some extent. Logan has all the abilities (healing, strength, wolf's body), but he doesn't have to listen Wolverine, and Wolverine can't take back control. at least not yet.
As for Werewolfs and vampires fighting against each other... It seems that the popular belief is that vampires use werewolves as servants, practically slaves. Wouldn't you want to beat up a person who's using you against your will?
“How… What kind of a man does that? Plans how to kill his wife?” She uttered mortified.
*A hunter. A careful hunter. Especially when his wife is a hunter, too.*
“What about you? The wolf…”
*I made plans for both of us. Good plans. But I’m too much of a coward to pull them through. That’s why loosing tonight won’t be an option to either of us.*
Wow. He's being incredibly forthright in this chapter, and as Marie knows, almost scarily so. I wonder how this revelation will affect their relationship later, if Marie will always have this fear in the back of her mind. Will he/has he been thinking of ways to kill her? And if he discovers he can't, will it ever come to a point where he'll kill them both?
But perhaps it will affect Logan more in the long-term, because I believe him when he says he doesn't think he can kill her, even if it's the right thing to do. And while that luckily keeps them both alive at this point, I think in the long-term it might affect his identity. Although possibly not. *g* That's what makes it a plot twist, I suppose!
But I love the image of being held by a half-man, half-wolf, one that bore enough relation to Wolverine to be truly scary, one who'd fed you earlier in the day, and now confessed in a lisp that he'd planned how to but couldn't kill you...and then bade you sleep. Hehe. Poor Marie.
OHHH what a treat. I just get back from vacation and i come home to more chapters!! Yay! Good stuff. Very interesting! When Claude walked out i think my jaw dropped!!! Total surprise to me. Can't wait for more!!!
But... but... but... Claude?!
Another cure... hope a working one.
Oh please! Logan is soooooooo gonna kill him. We don't need you 'claude' or Mr.PISSPOORNOWEVILEXBESTFRIEND. So nah! :P Although, I gotta say. It's a little unfair Logan got to eat but he wouldn't let Marie. Just a little.
Ooooh can't wait till they go hunting!
damn that was a tease...
Author's Response: More later. :)
And we haaaaaaaave
a WOLOGAN! ;-)
Interesting twist, that, and very strong, pacey scene.
"Any deity would do..." Yes, that's about the width'n breadth of it, isn't it?
Very funny your closing remark "[he] is in for the surprise of its unlife." Heh! Got get'im!
oh yeah man, it's fun time! lets get this vampire bastard and get Marie back to normal! WOHOOO *HOOOOOOWWWWWWLLLLL* go get 'em Wolfie!
