Wow. Just when you think it's going to get better for these two, in a quick sort of way, it only gets more complicated and angsty. You know what, though? This way actually makes a lot of sense. The poor kid has spent half her life a parasite and suddenly she finds out she can touch one other human being. You don't just jump on the guy. It scares you to death because in an instant everything is different. Perfectly written. Very well done.

Okay, so I think I'm missing something here. I don't think I understand what changed between them in the woods. Are the italics Rogue's thoughts during that time? And the last sentence "I would never have thought that would make me feel safe too." confuses me too. I get that she's confused about her feelings after Jean's revelation about her skin, but then I'm lost. This is one that I'm going to have to go back & re-read & see if I can figure out what went wrong.

You are doing an expert job of staying true to your characters and your story line, but you are killing me here! I know she's afraid--of everything--and broken in so many pieces it's a wonder she can even stand up, but what does a feral have to do to get through to this girl?
