ohh logan is in for a surprise if he thinks Marie will be happy to see him and ready to forgive and forget.
Author's Response: You think? ;) Logan isn't that big on surprises. We'll see.
Oh, joy of joys! I know their reunion won't exactly be all hearts and flowers, but it's coming and I can't wait! --Wendie
Author's Response: It won't? Eh, you're right, it probably won't. Too clever by half, you are. ;)
damn, I really just can't get enough. everyone gets to have so much depth and texture and vitality. thank you for my daily digest of brilliance!
Author's Response: Blushing madly here. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
Loved it!
Author's Response: Thank you!!
What has that woman got planned???? Dammit! I love Kitty's perspective. I love it even more that she and Peter are finding their way to each other. You captured her youth--and the odd wisdom of it--very well. I like how you moved the story forward--a bit--through Kitty's voice and the conversation with Jubes, but I'm hanging on by a thread here--Where the hell is Logan? And if Rogue is planning what I think she's planning, he better hurry his ass up! I'm all in, hook, line and sinker, but c'mon already. I'm getting a little...uh...what's the Yiddish word for crazy?...mushuganah or something like that? --Wendie
Author's Response: We're all a little meshugenah around here, so you fit right in. I'm also glad you see this as moving the story forward. This is not one of those 'Mutant Act as Holocaust' stories, just so you know, so I always worry that this sort of chapter is a cul-de-sac. But I couldn't give it up, 'cause Kitty is just one of my favorite characters and, well, I like it.
i am still confused as to what exactly is going through marie's/Rogue's head but with each chapter i get a little bit more insight. I like that. update soon!
You have me very concerned about what Marie's plan might be. I would love to hear descriptions of some of the paintings. We know what New Orleans looks like and we know what Beauty is but are all her works portaits? And what did she just cover up? Is it Striker? Is it Logan? Is it someone from his past?
Author's Response: So, now there are some descriptions. I hope you also enjoyed Kitty's guided tour of the show...as far as what she covered up, I think we'll get back to that.
"People who weren’t artists never really understood that feeling, the idea that you had to meet what you created, had to learn your connection to it all over again every time you saw it in a new light." -- This line made me cry. How beautifully you have 'boiled down' the link between creator and creation. I feel this way about every story I have ever written, and you're right, no one else understands.
So now I can't wait to find out what 'the plan' is, even though it sounds kind of ominous. --Wendie
Author's Response: Aw, thanks! Writers and artists, they have a lot in common, don't they?
soooooooo is Logan gonna come back? are we gona hear what hes been doin thepast 5 years?
wow this story gets better and better. More interesting... Update soon!!!
Aaaaaaaaah. DDDD: This chapter was so good! And now I need the next one, please. :)
Ahh! What are these plans!? Now you're just teasing ;)
OK, now you're scaring me. I almost dread the next chapter, but bring it on, darlin'. Bring it on. --Wendie
ANOTHER great chapter. :-D xXx
I haven't had the chance to review the last couple of chapters but I wanted to let you know I am still reading. I am in awe of how you have built, released and are rebuilding the tension in this piece. It ebbs and flows so gradually you don't even know it is happening until you find yourself in the trough of the wave with the crest pressing down on you. I think I remember what happens next but I want to see what you have done with it. BTW I thought the last chapter fit Xavier perfectly - tone, texture and all of the English Lit references.
Author's Response: I'm very happy you liked Xavier's chapter. More soon...
'Perhaps one other. But that was long ago and better left alone. Perhaps.' Forgive me, but PERHAPS NOT! The insight you bring to these characters, all of them, is a pure joy to read. I am anxious to see how you portray our favorite feral upon his return. --Wendie
As much as I'm anticipating getting back to Rogue or Logan I do love this little aside from the Prof. Very rarely have I come across something from his POV that hits the mark. This clearly shows how introspective X is & I think applying your Shakespearean fixation adds to his character as well. For some reason I'm a sucker for a writer who also makes X acknowledges his own frailties despite his genius & telepathy.
Grade? A for Awesome :)
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I liked writing Xavier; I'm glad you enjoyed it.
this was problythe least liked chapter i have come across so far inthis story, plz tell me it gets better again
sorry not to comment on the story itself but OMG you saw Patrick Stewart live?! i am so in love with that man, he's so talented and smooth and sexy is a sophisticated older man-of-the-world way.
*swoon*
Author's Response: Yes I did. I agree with your assessment. ;) (I've also seen Ian McKellan live. Three times. There's nothing like these British-trained actors in classical roles...)
wow, for once i almost actually like Jean. great writing and wonderful in-depth reveal of a character a lot of us Rogan fans tend to make 2 dimensional so its easier to hate her.
I like the 5 years later, and I can handle the Jean pov - but I am hoping for some L/R interaction soon! More, please!
:-D
No, no, a contrite, repentant, regretful Jean was just the person to see us over the five-year bridge. And, please, please, please, let your last line be setting us up for Logan's return. The three of them, Rogue, Jean and Logan have a lot to deal with before any of them can be happy, and I do believe this will all end happily; you have shown too much love for your characters to end it any other way. --Wendie
5 years? hes been gone that long? is he ever gonna come back? plz? update soon!
I'm a little hopped up on allergy medication so this review isn't nearly as detailed as it should be considering the skillful complexity you captured in this chapter.
I wanted to review anyway & let you know that I'm still reading & appreciate the update :)
Author's Response: Oh, dear. I hope the allergies are better! I appreciate the effort! ;) There will be plenty of time for detail, trust me.
