Y'know, I have never, EVER liked Remy LeBeau. But in your hands, you have fleshed him out so exquisitely, so beautifully, that I find myself quite taken with him. He's so endearing! All hail your writing skills!

Oh, and the rest of the story is pretty awesome, too. :)

i loooove the line where the only thing she knows is that the tears on her face on hers...and nothing else about her is her own at the very moment.

and..."Nothing but an amazing fuck, eager fingers, a nimble tongue."

yeh, keep telling yourself that Rogue.

i'm glad you gave us a chapter in which you give Rogue's P.O.V. not so much how she got her powers (which is great BTW! ooohh Silver Samurai!) but how she thinks, why she does what she does, what she's denying her mind and heart even when she doesn't deny her body.

Author's Response: I feel like you're going to get tired of hearing me say thank you! But thank you for sharing your individual line observations, as well, I always love to hear what specifically readers responded to.

Couldn’t wait for this one to be finished so you get a mid way review :)

I’m surprised at the lack of reviews because your talent and skilful writing deserves many more. I can only presume that the concept of this one may not be everyone's 'cup of tea' (the joys of fanfic!!) - Everyone has their preferences not only on the concept of the story but on how the characters should be/act and some will not waiver!!

Your style is amazing and the pace and flow created is wonderful to read.

This chapter has brought everything together (well not quite but we're getting there!) the reasons for her actions, her pain, her denial, the truth long buried etc. the Rogan aspect watered down by Gambit yet here we are with this chapter having no choice but to fall in love with him if only in his words – ‘just a little bit’!

There’s the surface story/emotion, the underlying one too and it’s all turning into something I’m very impatiently wanting to read more of! Must mention that as I’m very much on the side of can’t-read-in-chapters-must-wait-for-it-to-be-finished (although recently for a short time only converted) I’m loving your lengthy ‘I can get my teeth into’ chapters. All I can say is keep ‘em coming (the chapters not the characters........although now that I mention it.......) ;)

Great stuff, very well done x

Author's Response: Thank you for this incredibly, incredibly kind comment. Haha, yes, more reviews are always lovely, but I also understand that my somewhat unconventional (to say the least) take on the Rogue/Logan relationship is definitely not what everyone is looking for; those are the joys of reading, full stop! Anyone who is too invested in these two characters behaving a certain way with each other (that is, madly and faithfully and unequivocally in love, maybe with angst) isn't going to have a lot of fun reading my stuff. And the character interpretations are probably a bit liberal as well; then again, the films themselves are quite erratic with everyone's portrayals, so I get some leeway there. :D I'm so happy you responded to the style and pacing, especially as I'm pretty usually of the 'the less happening, the better' school of narrative pacing, haha. And thank you for the comments on Gambit, too--I'm interested in all aspects of how Rogue and Logan deal with the other's presence in her/his life, and that means considering the introduction of "outsiders," though I suppose in the comicverse, it would be the other way around! And thank you for breaking your rule about not reading unfinished stories--yes, I typically update in large chunks, so I'm glad that works out for you. Thanks again for the lovely comments.

So the f-bomb was used approx 78 times in this chapter...sorry, couldn't resist checking. Thank you for giving us Rogue's POV & what happened in Manhattan.

I especially like how they're Logan's ghosts, instead of his memories. That phrasing jumped out at me because when you think about it all of the heavy stuff in his past is haunting not just him, but Rogue too. Well those are my two cents.

Favorite part was #272 :)

Author's Response: Haha, thanks for taking one for the team, sahara. Yes, the Rogue in this story has a far filthier mouth than Logan, or anyon else, that's for sure. Maybe she absorbed a sailor without knowing it. Thank you for the comments about ghosts; being haunted is a definite concern in this story--and all my writing, really. And--gasp! 272 is my favorite one, too.

So Rogue got her powers from Carol Danvers.

Author's Response: Yes--though she's never named in the story, and has been turned into an anonymous Harada henchwoman.
