Welcome to the real world Rogue. Life isn’t a bed of roses and all the people around us are covered with scars from a variety of thorns, not always visible and with varying severity but there none the less. My mothering instincts were kicking in during this chapter, loved the hug scene but I wanted to take her aside for a bit of a grow up/wake up talk!

She’s scared of what she knew/what she now knows/what she feels but not facing up to it/hiding/running rarely solves anything, Remy is right; this has all gone beyond harmless fun in to the realms of cruel for all involved.

On the threesome side of things, I appreciate the honesty of Remy, how he is trying to get her to not only see but accept the truth but its still Logan I’m feeling sorry for – both of them are keeping him in the dark.

Why do I feel Remy is doing what he’s doing for his own benefit? I shouldn’t, there’s no suggestion of it, in fact probably the opposite and yet.....Hmmm.

Hurry up and post the next bit this friggin fic is driving me nuts! (in such a good, enthralling, impatient kind of way!)

Author's Response: Thank you once more for this wonderful in-depth response! Indeed; I think you hit it on the head with a previous comment, it's a coming-of-age story. In spite of myself! And the transition from the casual to the serious, from non-feeling to feeling, from (deliberate) ignorance to knowing, is really my concern here. Haha; well, Gambit's benefit would be to be seen and known, truly and deeply, by the woman he is in love with, so in that respect, yes, he's doing things for his own benefit. But he's already established that he is well aware of Rogue's attachment to Logan (more than she is, frankly). Throughout the story I've tried to show that Gambit in no way believes himself capable of "stealing" her; nor is that his ultimate intention. I think he's a bit more tragic than that. I think you said in a previous response that to some extent, he is willing to settle for less than what he wants. I think that's very apt, here.

I didn't review the last chapter, I'm sorry! I feel like we're seeing a crack in Rogue's armor (finally! How long can a girl go like this!) I surprisingly feel bad for Remy (I'm really appreciating him thanks to the hotness of that scene in this chapter). I wonder how (if) Rogue's going to tell Logan all of this horrible info & what he's going to do with it :/

Author's Response: Haha, no worries! Yes, about the cracks in Rogue's armor, absolutely; though it does take a long time, it's life-sucking, after all! :) Haha, glad you enjoyed the Gambit scene. Figured the only way she'll listen to him would be under the influence of his notorious talents in bed. :)

So we are all caught up now. I am really loving this story. Out of all of them it seems like Rogue is the most screwed up right now. How interesting. I can't wait to see what happens next! Update soon!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading and your lovely comments. Haha; yes, I think I would agree with you on the Rogue assessment. At least the others are trying to live honest lives; live the best they can, with what they've got.

Every chapter is better than the last. I swear my heart is breaking for Logan, Remy and Rogue.

Author's Response: Thank you for reading! And thank you for your heartbreak... it is much appreciated by this writer.

:(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

I cried so hard it's not even real anymore.

I thought chapter 8 is the hardest chapter to get through, but I think this chapter is mother of all hardest for me.

Oh Rogue... there are too much that I want to say about Rogue but all I could think of is that, she's scared and she's growing up too fast. Knows secrets that she's not supposed to know and she knows answers that she thought she's ready to handle but couldn't in the end. And then when her images of how Logan now was tainted, she gets angry and upset and I think I know why she's crying at this part :-

"Carefully and gently repairing and renewing everything she had destroyed."

Maybe because she knows what Logan is capable of doing and his previous life was all about destroy destroy destroy but in this life, he's all repairs and renews and that somehow makes her sad how Logan used to be only one dimension and now he has more sides of him that Rogue has seen.

And Remy... omg never have I feel conflicted by whatever he's trying to shove down Rogue's throat.

I know he wants Rogue to know the truth about Logan and him and asks for her to understand that something cannot be avoided and were Logan to remember what he had done in his previous life, he too would regret them immensely.

For that I applaud Remy's persistence for Rogue to forgive them (maybe to forgive Logan more because somehow he knows that Logan is the main concerns here.)

But maybe I'm wrong in my observations.

Hey, you made me cry but you should be proud of yourself for this exceptionally amazing truly beautiful writing.

- Alia.

Author's Response: Thank you again for your always detailed and extensive reviews; and thank you especially for your tears! I think your observations are apt... I think absolutely, that for Rogue there is something heartbreaking about knowing who Logan used to be and who he is trying to be, now; that in some way the way he is living his life is already about an atonement for a past he doesn't even fully know yet. I don't know if Gambit wants Rogue to forgive them; I think, for him, he doesn't believe either of them should be forgiven, and he certainly doesn't forgive himself. (Some shades of the comicverse Gambit/Marauders/Antarctica thing.) But I think (I'm speaking as an objective reader, not as the author) what he hopes for--what we hope for from the people we love or wish to love us--is to be seen, truly seen; known and truly known. And I think he wishes the same thing for Logan. Particularly because Rogue is so adamantly against knowing anyone. Thank you again for this wonderful comment and for your emotional reactions--they move me each time you respond.

So close, so close...PLEASE tell me this ends good? Or at least has some damn closure? It's just so raw...

Author's Response: Haha--final part added, that's all I can say. :)
