I should just go back and re-read all of your stories! I know you're working on one in the moment, but I like to wait until their finished, because I kind of get . . . obsessive and I have this thing about starting stories that haven't been finished yet. I know you promised you never would leave a story behind, but I hate it when people don't finish them. Anyway, I love the way you show Logan's vulnerability and his propensity to be an asshole too. The way you portray his personality is very realistic. He is good (oh, so good!) but very flawed too--and not just in the sexy "tall, dark and brooding" way but in a "he's a total jerk" way tool. I could have totally understood Marie wanting to leave after this encounter--though I'm very glad she didn't! Thanks very much!

Really like this chapter.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it. Poor Logan, always ready to think the worst. But, in my conception of the character, he just doesn't understand how relationships work. He's not only not been in one, he hasn't even been *around* people in relationships. So he doesn't understand that people fight, and make up, and talk through problems. Marie may have been inexperienced with relationships, but at least from living in the mansion she understands a bit more about them. Logan takes some serious convincing.

Quadruple points just for the opening line.
Even with the blood roaring in his ears, the icy terror gripping his body, he knew it was the worst possible thing he could say to her, of all people. Yet another, picked from the multitude, "Of All Time"-er.
“Did you really think I was not just mad enough to leave, but to take all your clothes with me?” Laughed aloud at this. So simple, but I can't help but giggle every time I read it.
And then, a second later--“You promised,” she heard his low voice repeat, as if to himself. “You promised.” Heartbreak, total heartbreak. The end to this chapter was polar opposite to what I was expecting, and as such completely genius. You are such a...a...talentedawesomeexceptionalamazingbrilliantfabulouswonderfulpoignantfantasticsuperbjaw-droppinglygood writer. I'm jealous. It boggles the mind to think that we have someone of your skill on this site.
Btw, if it wasn't clear by now, this little spree was inspired by someone awesome enough to review every chapter of my story. Heinously late, but there you have it. ;~D

And my review of your story was heinously late as well, just because even on the fifth or tenth or whatever reading I was too impatient to get to the next chapter to stop and review the prior one! But that makes it such a nice surprise when it happens, as reading all your reviews today has been. :-)

Wow! Ok first of all, thanks for the dedication!! yay I'm special! lmbo
And now about the chappie!
I loved how Logan got all growly and sad and mad when he read that file, it was so sad when he pushed Rogue away... and then, when he thought she was gone, and he was all "Im such an a**hole, I dont deserve her" (not actually a quote, just the way its sticking in my mind) was so deliciously angsty, but was nicely happyafied (don't I have the best grammar?) when she comes back from doing the LAUNDRY, of all things! I loved that bit the best, I think. Or maybe the bit about her being so mad she'd take all of his clothes with her as well- I snorted a bit of OJ up my nose with that part!
All in all, another fantastic chapter! Keep it up! I'll have to read the next chapter another time though, my bed calls to me

I was a little worried that she might have left-- I'm glad she didn't! Again, I like how she was mature about their fight in the end--how she just brushed it off and was over it. Hopefully now Logan will realize how much she cares and is committed to him. Poor guy, he's so crazy about her but doesn't think he deserves her. I think she'll be able to set him straight eventually. Thanks for another great chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review! Yeah, at times I worry I am overplaying Logan's low self-esteem/abandonment issues, but I figure post-lab Logan is even less connected to people than just-hangin'-around-cage-fightin' Logan so in my mind it makes sense. As much as Marie is kind of an isolated character herself, at least from living in the mansion she kind of knows second-hand how relationships work. People fight, say things they don't mean, etc., and it's not the end of the world. I think Logan just has no clue how things work, and he's too ready to believe that he's not worth the trouble of working things out.

Wow, that last sentence just about broke my heart. I could easily see Logan in Marie's arms trying to reassure himself that she won't leave him. I adore this story so far and I anticipate another chapter with glee.

i love how you switched around the usual dynamic of logan promising marie something. it was a reallly poignant moment at the end there. loved the chapter, amazing writing as usual!!!
