Barely Legal Since 2000
Very believable! Didn't see it coming at all.
Of course he is--It's for "her own good". Can I smack him, please? GRRRRR!!!!
Such marvelous detail, painting the scene in the readers mind more effectively than any artist's brush.

Waaaaaiiitt....What? What??!!! WHAT??!!!!!!!!!!! >wild-eyed, panicky shock, horror
Author's Response: Or as my son would say thanks to his obsession with SuperGrover..."Hubba what?" ;-) Glad I was able to catch you by surprise with that. I tried to put enough clues in there that it wouldn't seem totally out of the blue, but then reading it over it seemed completely obvious to me, and I didn't want Marie to seem dense for missing all the signs. It's good to know I was able to surprise the "reader."
didn't see it coming, but perfectly believable. The Wolverine vs. Logan topic has become very much a cliché but you manage to make it credible again, down to the point that even the Rogue needs no more than a glance to remember a somewhat primeval fear. Glad to see that she has wits enough to leave him aone, to accept that no matter how great the love, there's always a part of the other we don't share. Contrary to present female ideology, I don'T think he's being an ass, either. He doesn't try to protect a little helpless woman, he tries to keep his only efuge from being compromised in a fight he has lost too many times - makes perfect sense to me. Doesn't mean that Rogue has to like it, though. You're doing some great writing here!!! :-)
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review -- I love how much detail you include in your reviews. I actually agree, as much as I make fun of Logan for what he does sometimes, I hope that I'm always conveying that he does have good reason to do it. It's one thing to risk yourself, and a very different thing to risk the ones you love.
Nice job! because locking Rogue in to protect her is so Logan. The man has issues. I cannot wait until Rogue goes after him and saves his ass, proving to be more powerful than him. Great job on the entire story arc and I'm sorry if I haven't been reviewing the whole way through!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review!
I was shocked for maybe half a second, just when he slammed the door, then I was like, duh.
I like how he made love to her the whole night before, and he seems pained by what he's doing, but certain that its necessary, and determined to keep her safe. I think its really convincing that he was prepared for her powers, and worked ways around them. The touches that make it most believable are: the food in the tub, buying off the clerk and paying for surrounding rooms, and calling Scott to come get her.
So good! I loved it!
Can't wait for the next chappie!
One thing, I usually only read stories that are already done, but this one just looked so interesting I couldn't wait that long, and I am beyond happy I started it when I did.
^_^
Author's Response: I'm glad I managed to catch you by surprise, but still make it believable. As much as I think Logan is being both thick-headed and high-handed, I did think it was kinda sweet that he is willing to get past his issues with Scott to call on him when needed to keep Marie safe. Glad you started reading before the story was complete, your reviews were the perfect pick-me-up at the perfect time. I'll try to write the rest extra-fast to keep you from being in suspense too long.
NOOO!!! Don't leave her!!! NOnonono!StupidSTUPID Logan >_<
Er, ya, random spaz,But NO! I was looking forward to Marie and Logan kicking some ass together XD. And yes, Logan is being an asshole.
On another note, I love this story! I found it on this site late at night around week or so ago -- I couldnt stop reading it. I'm glad your still making new chapters :D
Author's Response: Hi! Thanks so much for leaving a review. I'm so glad you're liking the story. I'm definitely going to keep up with it until it's done...I've been burned way too many times by never-finished works that are *awesome* and leave me in suspense. I've got a couple more chapters to go, and this one will be done. The next update will probably be this weekend. Thanks again for reviewing!
you know, i'm not sure how much more of this rogue can take. i mean, he's being really sweet in a fucked up way, but seriously, this is not helping their relationship! i mean, i'd be SOOOOO pissed if i were her, like wanting to burn down the motel just to spite him pissed. anyhoo, amazing twist, very believable and clever! cannot wait for more, but i'm kind of hoping rogue gives him a little bit of a hard time before forgiving him. maybe she could somehow escape and save his ass at the last second, ha, that'd be funny!
Author's Response: Yeah, I've kind of wondered at times just how understanding she can be without being a doormat. I think in other stories I'm used to Rogue understanding Logan's idiosyncrasies because she has him in her head, but since this AU Marie has no Inner!Logan she has to rely on what she knows from his background and what he's told her about himself to understand his behavior. He's being pretty thick-headed for sure, but I am hoping that his intense reaction to Stryker helps justify that. I mean, if something can scare the sh*t out of Logan, it must be pretty bad, right, even if he can't remember exactly what it was? And I think that partly justifies for me why he feels he's doing the right thing to protect Marie.
ah, I wondered when 'special Logan' was going to make an apperance. very good so far.
Author's Response: Is "special Logan" some kind of code for "dickhead Logan"? ;-)
Noooooo! Hasn't she touched Kitty? Please tell me she has touched Kitty before - there is no keeping her anywhere if that is the case!
Author's Response: I'm not sayin'. ;-)
Awww thanks for the dedication! And thanks for this awesome chapter. I was so happy last chapter. Thought all the drama was worked out. But Damn! I am in shock once again. I was not expecting that! You really know how to tear out my heart and make me feel! Update soon! I can't wait to find out what Marie does with this! And I need Logan to stop being an idiot! LOL
Author's Response: Thanks for being an awesome reviewer. It hasn't escaped my attention that you're in the top 10 most prolific reviewers, and I think that is absolutely awesome! I'll try to update this weekend at the latest. Maybe earlier with this bonus snow day I got, if I can stop reading fanfic (just discovered rawrave) and go back to writing it. :-)
Holy Crap! That was amazing and that cliffhanger has me anxious for the next chappie. You are doing great and I can't wait to see the confrontation between Logan and Stryker and what Rogue is gonna do to her boyfriend when she gets her hands on him again.
Author's Response: Yay! Glad you like it. Both things you're looking forward to should be in the next chapter (or two if it goes long). :-)
I really didn't see it coming, although I should have. And no, Logan is not being an ass, just protective of the woman he loves. Loving the direction of this story, please keep it up.
Author's Response: I'm glad it wasn't as obvious as it seemed to me when I re-read it. And I agree, Logan is being protective. I'd still call him a protective ass, but maybe I'll leave that to Rogue to say. :-)
An ass, but a sweet ass. He did what he had to to get the job done, I think it's fantastically sweet in a pathetic, overbearing sort of way. Thank you, yet again.
~Mia
Author's Response: What was that you said? Logan has a sweet ass? Oh, he *is* a sweet ass. Never mind. ;-) I'm so glad you liked it! Thanks so much for your review.
Evil cliffhanger!
No, he's not being an ass, he's just protecting the woman he loves. Makes perfect sense to me. It's totally in character too because throughout this story he has demonstrated that he'll do anything for her even if it isn't in his best interest. Plus he's crazy about her and afraid of losing her or her getting hurt, so yeah I can totally buy into the fact that he would go to extreme measures to keep her safe.
That being said, I did not see that coming. Now please update soon because I need to know what happens next. Don't make me use the comfy chair!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review! I'm glad you found it in character. And that you didn't see it coming -- it seemed painfully obvious to me when I read it over after writing it, and I didn't want to make it seem like Marie was stupid to be missing all those signs. I'll get working on the next update...it'll probably be up by this weekend for sure.
