This chapter is so ridiculously hot. Especially this line:
“Oh, God, baby, I can’t help—” he crushed her against him and licked at her lips again, a show of lust that would have been embarrassingly feral if she hadn’t whimpered and tentatively licked him back.
And this one:
“Just let me,” he muttered incoherently between kisses, “let me, darlin’, please.”
Again, I love how they talk to each other with such amazing candor. Great job!

I just love these two characters so much. This exchange:
He gave her leg a squeeze. “This okay?”
Marie turned away from him. “It feels too . . . too much.”
He took his hand back, muttering a curse. “Sorry. Next time tell me, Marie. Don’t be scared to tell me.”
Marie had only wanted him to stop moving his thumb, not to pull away completely. But she couldn’t bring herself to explain that.
And this one:
He felt his anger flare. “Oh, it’s like that, huh? Embarrassed of me?”
To his surprise, she turned into him and placed her hand over his heart. She spoke into his chest. “No. No. I am embarrassed, but not of you..."
I love how they talk to each other, but still feel there are things that have to be held back. It's never cliche between the two of them, and I admire that immensely.
Author's Response: I like that dynamic too. I think so much of what's between them is just innate and instinctual, and they probably couldn't find the words to talk about it even if they wanted to. They just kind of have a tacit understanding about some things. At least, I hope it comes across that way =)

Such a great chapter. You do an amazing job with dialogue. I love the "sleepy speech," and all your "Grrhs,' and "Nghhhs"...in all your stories -- so deliciously sexy. “Grrmph. This dialogue was great: "Yer in m’bed. Cr’wled in w’me.”
I loved this little detail too: The neat script he never remembered learning filled the page.
Author's Response: Ha! I'm glad you like the dialogue. I try not to be too colloquial or strange with spellings, but sleepy grumpy-bear Logan was just too cute to resist.

First, I am glad to hear I am not the only with a story writing itself out of order. I have large chunks of Everything written that we are chapters away from!
Anyway, I really thought this chapter was interesting there is LOTS at play here. I find it really concerning that Charles didn't understand what Marie did to herself and Rogue. He is the one who has warned her about what she did. Does he think she wouldn't have been so foolish as to do what she did? Oh Charles. I need to go back and try to figure out what he thinks Eric might know.
The WHOLE bit with Wolverine in her room is absolutely adorable!! By the end I think she had finally figured out. Of course she COMPLETELY missed the part where she agreed to live with Logan in the new apartment. Oh that's gonna be fun to read. Marie is going to be sooo pissed and pleased with herself all at the same time. :) Lovin' it!
Author's Response: That reminds me, I wanna finish your story! I read the first chapter and nearly had a freakin' heat stroke. That's totally going on the 'To-Do' list this week, right under, like, grocery shopping and stuff =). Expect reviewage. I agree there was lots at play in this chapter. It kinda kept pulling me in a million different directions. I don't think Charles has any idea at this point what Erik is planning--but I do think he's going to find out as he questions the Erik in Rogue's mind. And I think he's only going to get access to her mind by helping her restore her memories. (Yay for overcomplicated plot devices! I really outdid myself with this one, heh.) Wolverine and adorable--those are two words you don't often see together. I like it!

I love how Logan rubs his scent on her as though it were perfume. This chapter was a lovely followup to the rough passion of the last one; it's full of affection and tenderness between the two of them. Nice to see Logan's gentle side as you build this new relationship between Logan and Marie, not just Rogue and Wolverine.
I'm so curious to find out who Xavier's agent is. :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the read and review =). I am definitely enjoying writing and developing the Wolverine/Rogue/Logan/Marie dynamic, almost to the point that it crowds out the plot most chapters, but hey, it is a W/R story, so hopefully no one's too upset!

What did Logan say a few chapters ago? Look at them two ferals being civilized? I enjoyed this chapter quite a bit, Marie is learning to have faith in herself and trust Logan. Logan is doing his best to be good for her. Very sweet.
As for Charles, well he needs to try put some faith and trust in Logan that he cares more for Marie than he does revenge, it will be a hard thing but I hope Charles realizes it will be better if he lets Logan make the choice himself. You are what you do.
Author's Response: I like your analysis of Charles. He definitely needs to give Logan room to grow into the person he wants to help him become. I definitely see him in a 'mentor' role with Logan. He's just trying to find that balance--to keep Logan on the right path and not give him 'just enough rope to hang himself with'

Prob my favorite chapteer of the whole story, being a newlywed myself, I identified strongly with how Rogue was feeling, and the last couple of lines just blew me away.

This was a great chapter - very sweet and sexy. I'm glad that they are on the same page and came to an understanding about their relationship. And Logan finally gets to hear the words he's been waiting for.
I also liked the nice touches of humor too:
“Ya big idiot! Course I ain’t ever been kissed like that—no one’s been stupid enough to try.”
“Stop it. I want you. What do ya need to believe it, a signed affidavit?”
“The way you are? Ya mean beautiful? ‘Cause I’m failin’ to see how that would lessen your chances with me.”
And I liked this line as well:
“You’re so right for me.”
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up! ;)
Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad the chapter worked well for you. I really wanted them to have a sweet, simple moment with each other in preparation for all the drama and crap they are about to go through (lol). The inspiration for Marie/Rogue's voice in this fic was a mix of the first movie and the 90's cartoon . . . and when I went back and rewatched a couple of cartoon episodes--hey, it's research--I realized how funny and sarcastic she was at times. Between work and school, I'm rarely home to type out this story, but rest assured it's fully outlined and has almost filled an entire notebook already. I'm glad you like the touches of humor! I stayed up until 3:30am reading this, lol. I love the Feral aspect of this. As traumatizing as it all is for the characters, it's totally one of my favorite tropes that I don't think I could pull of right so that I haven't even tried to write one. That said, I was disappointed when Marie integrated herself with Rogue and totally mucked it all up with her conscious decision making and real girl feelings. *pouts* And now she's totally trying to make Rogue bow to her and is being just a little bit of a bitch about not even thinking about Logan being in the same boat as her.
But it's improving, because they can't stand other people even looking at each others. (Let this in no way imply that I'm not happy with it, though the lack of a feral lovefest is driving me a bit wacky. *grin*) I'm excited to read the rest and badger you for more when I'm finished. Hopefully I won't keep reading it until the wee hours of the sleep and end of getting only four hours of sleep after this. *grin* Great stuff!
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked the feral aspect, since it's going to play a major role throughout the whole story. As for Marie integrating, I had mixed feelings about it too, but there will still be times when her feral side--not to mention Logan's--comes to the forefront. I figured it made sense for these things to kind of run on a cycle and be influenced by their natural biorhythms, that is next month they're going to go through the same insanity LOL. On that note, sorry for interfering with your sleep patterns, heh, I know how that goes.

I loved how Logan reacted to the 'Alpha' bit and am delighted he finally got to hear those words he has been so heroically waiting for.
It is also great they are both finally on the same page. One thing less for me to worry about so I can more freely enjoy their handling of 'ferality' and what comes with it. (is that even a word...)
Anyway, thank you for the new chapter. It brightened my very weird weekend.

I'm guessing that means weird in a bad way? *curious* Anyhow, yes, there will still be complications, but I've never been one to leave love interests angsty and brooding for too long. They're both grownups, and they'll soon be facing enough issues from outside sources that they hardly need to be at odds with each other on top of it all! (Okay, okay, they will still be at odds with each other and themselves quite a bit, but that just makes it fun, right?) P.S. Ferality=awesome new word.

So I went back and reread because I was trying to get a line on Marie's age. She has been in NY 10yrs, she was with Eric when she was 15, she left the Brotherhood (after returning to them after Liberty island) when they made her absorb Carol (there were years in between when Jean and Charles tried to get Marie to leave) and she was there to help Kitty pick out a prom dress and when she came back from college (so that is at least 6 of the 10yrs there). My guess is that she is close to 30 (15 plus 4 - just a guess of yrs between Liberty island and Carol, plus 10 with the X-men - assuming the Brotherhood isn't in NY). This of course means she has absorbed someone with healing along the way (besides the mission a few weeks ago where she absorbed Sabertooth).
Author's Response: You rock, girl. Your estimation is much better thought out than mine (ha!). 30-ish sounds right. Rogue's delayed aging (or her age itself) wasn't anything I ever planned to explicitly mention, just kind of hint at throughout the story, but I like your deductive reasoning! Might have to include it more explicitly (there's a scene where Logan reads a dossier on her . . . maybe I'll toss in her age/birthday or something :P). And I figure there are a number of reasons, not the least of which being the life force/mutations she's absorbed from other people. Also, Ms. Marvel's 'durability' has always been explained as giving her muscles superhuman strength and endurance. This implies decreased cellular/tissue breakdown, ergo superhuman longevity as well, right? That's why I figure Rogue has hardly aged since she absorbed Carol, and now that she has full control of her powers, the aging process will practically come to a complete halt. Why? Because it's my fuckin' story and no matter what I put them through to get there, Rogue and Wolverine are going to have a LONG happily ever after! =D

I love the little tingle about the fact that Marie might be much older than Logan thinks. I am going back ro reread the entire thing so I can come up with my best guess as to how old she is.
The bed scene was powerful and sexy and sooo right. I love Logan's entire dialog with the Wolverine about expecting what he has not what he can't. I can see that coming to a head between Logan and Wolverine - that's going to be a fabulous thing to read.
You do so well with the voice of the other characters. I am very interested in how the next scene with the Professor plays out and how long it is before Logan just moves in to her room. :)
Author's Response: Ha, you needn't re-read too far. The first hint was planted in chapter 1 :). Rogue has been in Westchester for about a decade, and came to the X-Men shortly after absorbing Carol, so . . . in my mind she's 27 years old. I'm so glad the intimate scene came across well, along with Logan/Wolverine's inner struggle. Those conflicting emotions will definitely come to a head. And quietly moving into Marie's room is one thing, but the real question is, how will Logan convince her to move in with *him* once his private apartment is finished? Dun dun DUN ;P.

Great chapter. I'm glad that Logan is trying to hold back the commanding of Rogue righ tnow. I can't wait to see how the meeting between Rogue, Logan and the Professor goes. I know Rogue will probably have something to say about what Scott told her. I wonder if she sees Charles as an alpha too, because he is her boss and she takes orders from him. Maybe not an alpha like Logan, but still an older alpha? Hmm? Can't wait to see what you pull from your hat next. ;)

Rogue and even Logan to an extent will come to see him as 'alpha', especially later in the fic when he has a reason to display his full power (Ooh, spoiler).
