I've been reading on my phone lately, so I had to go back and see where I last reviewed, and was shocked to see I stopped at Chapter 1. You definitely deserve a review for every chapter. I think you are doing an amazing job with this little love quadrangle, and how it is affecting them all. This was my favorite line from this one:
For a moment, I stop and think. And my only thought is, was that for Scott or for Logan?

"Love is... awkward." Oh man how I hate Jean. There's a special raging inferno just for her. I love and hate this explanation that she gives. I don't feel like the word "awkward" is the appropriate word for her to use here, so it makes me hate Jean all the more for her shitty response. It just sounds juvenile, which just compounds on my Jean-Hate. So props to you if this was intentional. If this wasn't, then I will still refuse to acknowledge otherwise because despite how nice she was to Rogue before take-off, I still think she deserves a good shove off of the blackbird. ;)
Author's Response: Heh - I'd like to pretend it was intentional.. but it wasn't *g*. Although she is explaining it as if it was to a child. Poor Jean, though - she's not all that bad *g*. Put yourself in her position, Logan does all of the chasing in each of the three films, it's his fault a lot more than it is hers, besides, would you turn him down? I decided to cut her some slack in this fic. Give her the benefit of the doubt. Trouble it, it seems to have had the opposite affect & more people seem to hate her. Heh. That's a interesting technique I might try again!

Oh boy there’s some real subtle break your heart moments in here – love how she questions herself is she really ready? Love her thoughts on the fact she was taught how to kill but not how it would feel and along side that we have the body count – sneaked in but it really hit home.
And then……‘ And my only thought is, was that for Scott or for Logan?
But it’s not me his gaze falls to time and time again. It’s her.
and both Scott and Logan rush to her side.
The next time I hit with my crow bar, it’s a little harder. And then I do it again. And Again. Even though he’s already fallen.’
For gods sake woman there’s only so much we can take! This whole section was just agonizingly perfect. And then you throw in the little girls slipper and just……….Will you stop it!
Really liked how this chapter started with Logan trying to protect her from the reality of what she was going to face and then ended with him accepting, understanding and showing her why they do it. Still came away with nothing but annoyance for Jean though ;)

You gave me a pang for Jean, which is pretty much a testament to your genius. Loved Logan's understanding of Rogue at the end there ... he knows what she needs, when no one else does. Sob.
Author's Response: Yay! A pang for Jean! Whoop! :oD Trying to write a fic where Logan loves Jean, where Jean is nice and non-evil, is getting lots of Jean hate (should have seen that coming really!) I'm really not trying to make her the villain in this one, though. Maybe she needs to save some puppies or something. Kittens? Bunnies..?

Every word, just delicious. I am seriously beginning to think that you ARE Rogue...
I love your insights, everything about your stories are so real (in-so-much that super hero mutants are real, lol)
Sometimes I wince at the pain of Rogue witnessing Logan pining after Jean, but I just can't help but be mesmerized by it. And I love how you've made Jean, I have always pictured her as flawed, just like the rest of the X-Men.
Have I told you already how happy I am that you are writing Rogan fanfiction again? :)

Excellent second chapter, the mission is how you would never want it to be but how it always is. That Jean has regrets is really surprising, but interesting all the same. It gives Jean a dimension she doesn't usually have.

awwww. More please! I love how you explained in such great detail Marie's first mission and how tough it was. Then Logan showing her the reason he continues to go on missions is sweet.
