The pain she feels when she sees there aren't any scars is poignant. She will forever remember what happened, be able to live it, but his body shows no proof.
Author's Response: Yes, the lack of scars is so unnerving...I think in some ways it lets Logan feel like what happens to him doesn't really matter...that if he can deal with the pain it won't have a lasting impact, but it still does. Thanks for reviewing!

Author's Response: Yeah, it's nice to know she wasn't just being a bitch for the fun of it, huh? For someone with trust issues I can see how she might jump to the wrong conclusion there. And yeah, I know the plot might be getting crazy complicated right now, but it'll all fall into place. Thanks for reviewing!

So, as usual, just left a review on Ff.net and now I re-read last chapter here...I like so much how you described her flow of feelings and thoughts, building up the strenght and the courage to trust him(God, I hope I'm writing in intelligible English!), I like your twist, with the great entrance of the brotherhood! And, I always love protective Logan!

You might as well have hit me in the face with a brick. I'm that stunned by the revelation of what spooked Marie in the previous chapter. And while I'm at it, let me tell you I am at this very moment in total awe of your genius. What a completely original way to introduce the villain in the piece. And such a familiar villain that he almost doesn't even feel like a threat anymore, but by introducing him to us through Marie's eyes, we see him as the sinister SOB he really is...There was nothing wrong with the previous chapter, so nothing needs forgiving. Now, explaining, particularly explaining Marie behaving like she'd been betrayed somehow, that is another matter, and this chapter accomplished it brilliantly. Hitting the 'favorite' button now. --Wendie

Ah so it WAS Erik. I wonder if he is 'buying' muntants to find out who is running the show and stop them just like the X-men or if he is buying slaves. I had wondered if the kid with the flames was Pyro.
I find it really cool that this chapter's title is very much the theme of the chapter. The entire chapter is full of secrets.
