I liked that a lot. Especially the line talking about how they fit each other's losses. That was beautiful, simple and so appropriate. Genius.

this is a beautiful short, capturing a powerful moment that we never saw on screen. isn't it odd that logan and rogue always seem to find common ground as the loners? your characterization of logan is perfect... understanding, yet possessive.

Fantastic story, 'Self-Possessed' is one of my favourite X-men Evo episodes, and loved the way Logan scooped Rogue up at the end.

There were so many freat lines in this fic it's hard to choose a fave, but I loved this.

'He wished, selfishly, that he'd found her a few years from now. Wished that she was old enough for him to let her see what it was that he wanted from her. As it was, he feared she'd never see him as he knew she should. He feared she would lose herself before he ever got to her. Ever had his chance.'

It's so wistful, so angsty, just loved it!
Thanks for a great read!

His fingers stroked her cheek absently, and he looked up and caught Chuck's look from across the back of the limo. His fingers stilled and then slid back to her neck.

He'd have to wait.
****

Oh, that part turned a little creepily cold and possessive in a shiver-y way. It's calculated, the way he looks up at Chuck, the way he brushes her cheek, the way she doesn't notice. Like he's claiming it more now because he can't yet have it. He's guarding her.

Great contrast to the sadness and yearning throughout the rest of the fic - how scared he is, how vulnerable, how much he seems to need her even if he's not sure she's enough for him, if he's enough for her.

Subtle shifts of emotion, complicated. I liked this very much.
