More ooey gooey goodness.

Enjoy!
Logan thought about what the song lyrics had to say. Marie had walked into that dirty run down bar in the middle of nowhere, called Laughlin City, and suddenly he became a hero. He saved her from the cold, Sabertooth, and the road by getting her to Xavier’s School. She took him into her care, and he allowed his hopes to rise, that he could take a chance and care about someone, because people around him tended to end up dead. Through one reason or another… And now because he took a chance on her on that bleak day in the frozen north, he was about to see all his dreams come true.

Suddenly the wheels are in motion, and I, I'm ready to
Sail any ocean
Suddenly I don't need the answers
'Cos I, I'm ready to take all my chances with you

“Ya know, it’s true. Ah’d sail anywhere with you,” Marie said before she rested her head on his chest, just under his chin.

“Just as long as we’re not flyin’.”

“Ya gotta get over your fear of flyin’, sugah. Do ya want it ta get out that the big bad-ass Wolverine is afraid… Of a silly little ol’ thing called flight?”

“That hurts Marie,” Logan pretended to look wounded but then he ruined the effect with a smile.

“Ah’ll make it up to yer wounded ego latah,” Marie whispered in his ear.

“Of course you will, if you wanna get any sleep tonight,” Logan broadly smiled.

And how can I feel you're all that matters,
I'd rely on anything you say
I'll take care that no illusions shatter
If you dare to say what you should say
You make it seem I'm so close to my dream
And then suddenly it's all there

“Listen, I know I agreed on a date… I don’t think I wanna wait that long to make you my wife, Marie.”

“Are you tellin’ meh you wanna run to Vegas lahk Kitty and Bobby and git hitched?”

“Though the thought has merit, I think our friends and family would kill us.”

“That remahnds meh, ah gotta call Lara and Frank about the date.”

“Can’t we just send them invitations?”

Marie play punched Logan’s left arm, “No Logan, that’s improper. We can send save-the-date cards and then the invitations. Ah’m still gonna call her. We owe them a trip to California for dinner.”

Suddenly the wheels are in motion, and I, I'm ready to
Sail any ocean
Suddenly I don't need the answers
'Cos I, I'm ready to take all my chances with you

Why do I feel so alive when you're near,
There's no way any hurt can get thru
Longing to spend every moment of the day
With you, with you

“Ah wanna spend every moment of the weekend with you,” Marie whispered in his ear.

“Fine by me, as long as I get time off for good behavior, so that I can feed you and use the washroom.”

“It’s a deal.”

Suddenly the wheels are in motion, and I, I'm ready to
Sail any ocean
Suddenly I don't need the answers
'Cos I, I'm ready to take all my chances with you

While their co-workers were dancing, Charles looked to Henry McCoy.

“Tell me, how in the world you got so close to the date?”

“I was thinking of tax day, my friend. Because in 2013 they would have to file jointly, and it would be easier for Logan to remember an easy rounded number like 18.”

“So who do you think is going to win the honeymoon pool,” Bobby asked.

“I’d say the good Professor here, myself, and you, Bobby Drake have the best odds,” Hank spoke.

“I can say it’s getting very interesting,” Charles said.

“It’s not too late to put more money into the pool, guys,” Kitty announced.

Classes had ended for the day and Ororo went to the communications office to sort the postal mail for delivery by Kurt. Then she started to check her email from the students that needed help on their assignments when Marie came into the twenty by twenty sized room.

“’Ro, could ah tahlk with you for a few moments?”

“Yeah, sure sweetie.”

Marie shut the door behind her as she completed entering the room.

“What can I do for you?”

“The guest list is a little small fer Logan and ah… Ah was wonderin’ if you could help meh remembah anyone ah’ve forgotten, if you’re not too busy.”

“Sure. I’d be glad to help. No, I’m not too busy.”

“Great, then here’s the list. If anyone asks, yer doin’ some research for meh.”

“Should I ask Logan if there’s anyone he wants on the list?”

“Yeah, but catch him when he’s not busy. Thanks ‘Ro.”

“Your welcome, I’ll get right on this after I finish the email from my students.”

“That’s fahn, see ya.”

Marie looked pleased as she left. Ororo looked at the list on the way back to her desk and then picked up the portable phone on her desk. The list was rather small… She called down to the men’s locker room because Logan would be suiting up to train in the danger room with the junior X-Men trainees at four o’clock.

“Logan, we have a problem.”

“What’s up?”

“Marie just came to me with her guest list. She was worried that it was a little small. What should I do? Do you have anyone that you want at the wedding?”

“Don’t worry about it, I’ll handle it. Thanks ‘Ro. You gonna suit up today?”

“Yeah, I’ll be there. I’ll bring the list and pass it on. Is Marie training today?”

“I don’t think so, she said there was a little paint mishap in her art class today, so she’s on clean up duty.”

“If you need help with the list, I’m available.”

“Thanks ‘Ro.”

Logan looked up as he heard the elevator door open. Ororo stepped of and walked the short ten steps to him.

“Here’s the list. I’m going to go change,” he saw the question in her eyes.

“Thanks. I sent ‘em in early to do warm up drills.”

“It’ll just take me a minute,” Ororo spoke and then moved her butt on to the X-Men and X-Women’s locker room.

Logan took a look at the list. He noticed Marie hadn’t listed her parents. Things were getting ridiculous with Marie avoiding her parents. The situation was going to be rough but, something was going to have to be done soon to maybe smooth things over ahead of time. He considered maybe sending her mother some flowers and her dad a box of expensive cigars. Not from his private Cuban stash but, something the man might appreciate. What if he didn’t smoke? Okay, maybe a bottle of whiskey. What if he didn’t drink? We were talking about the bible-belt south here. Maybe he could send him a gift card? Yeah, somewhere her dad to take her mom out to dinner. You could get more bees to honey than you could with vinegar. He just hoped the bribes worked. Logan remembered some friends from the fighting underground in Texas he thought about inviting. He considered going on a road trip with Marie and not telling her that they were ending up at her parent’s house. A few minutes later he looked up and spotted Storm.

“Don’t worry about adding more to the list. Tell Marie I’ll take care of my side of the list. I do need a favor though. Find me Marie’s parents address.”

“Shouldn’t you ask Marie if she wants her parents there first? I know they hurt her deeply.”

“If I tell her now, it will worry her. If I don’t say anything and take her to her parents’ house, then she’ll have to deal with it. Marie is avoiding the issue and I want her parents there for her. If they turn me down then no love lost and we’ll still get hitched anyway but, then we’ll know where they stand.”

“Whatever you say. I’ll go put this in the control room while you get started.”

As Ororo was on her way back to finish up her emails in the communications office when she heard someone knocking on the front door. She opened the wood door to a man in a blue jumpsuit with the name Bob sewn on his shirt. He was there waiting with one beautiful red rose and a sprig of baby’s breath in two white crystal vases. Each one had a plastic trident like fork with a white envelope containing a note.

“Can I help you?”

“Yeah, I’m here to deliver these to a Marie Caldicott and Ororo McCoy.”

“Well, I’m Ororo. I can deliver the other one.”

“Ok, sign here.”

The man left as soon as he had what he needed. Ororo closed the door and opened her envelope to check out the card.

“I can’t wait for Friday, my sweet. All my love, Henry. Ps. I procured a sitter for Charlie,” she read to herself.

She smiled and then she went on the hunt for Marie, the emails completely forgotten. She found her in the art class room grading tests on the art masters.

“Marie, this just came for you with a card. It’s a little odd. I got one exactly like it.”

“Who’s yours from?”

“Hank. Is yours from, you know who?”

“Well let meh open it first,” Marie said as she slipped a letter opener through the envelope. She read the card and looked at it strangely, “It’s not his handwritin’.”

“What’s it say?”

“Just uh capital dub-yah.”

“I think it’s a game. What if the W stands for Wolverine?”

“How can ya guess?”

“Call it a hunch.”

The same delivery guy showed up with two vases. Same colored flowers, blue glass vases this time. Ororo carried both vases to her classroom until the bell rang at noon. Then she carried Marie’s to her art classroom. She had decided to wait and open her card when she was with Marie. She was washing out paint brushes when Ororo found her.

“Look what came…”

“Really? Now ah think you maht be raht. This has to be a game or somethin’. Open yours first.” Ororo took the letter opener from Marie’s offered hand.

“Have I told you lately that I love you? I love you, Henry. Marie, I don’t know what our men are up to, but, I like where it’s headed so far.”
