Here is the list of catagories for the RCA. Some are self-explanitory so I didn't dress them up others well there may have been some confusion so I gave 'em the sunday best treatment.
Best Lengthy story: Minimum length 3 chapters must be a completed work. However if you do find that there's a really, really long story that you've enjoyed (doing an example here - Teaching Scott a Lesson) then by all means nominate it. Length is required not chapter count.
Best Short Story: Can have no more than 2 chapters.
Best Series: Must have at least two or more completed stories within it (By this I mean individual stories that follow a path but could be stand alones - not chapters)
Most Tearjerker/heartwarmer: A story that touched you emotionally be it in a good or bad way
Best Adult theme
Best humor - this one is a bit tricky. Humor and Foof go together a lot of the time but this time I'm looking for a story that has a plot or theme not just a laugh a minute.
Best Foof - Something that you can laugh at without really thinking about
Best Song Fic
Best AU Fic
Best Smut/PWP - yes this is different from Adult - I've read a lot of the NC17 stories on the board and some have plots where the sex is merely another detail in the story and others were merely sex is the story.
Best UST - to go with the one above
Best Use of - A Prop Pretty self explanitory
Best Twist - An awesome story that somehow comes out with a twist at the end to make you sit back and go "WOW - didn't see that coming!"
Most Memorable line - A line or paragraph that stuck with you long after you'd finished reading the story and shut down the old 'puter. Something that makes you go back and re-read the story over and over again just to be sure you've got every minute crumb out of it!
Best Classic - this catagory is for those who have a story that was NOT done in 2006 but feel it is award worthy! Nominate it!
Best Work in Progress - there are some really good stories out there that aren't finished and I felt that they needed some recognition. Now the rule with this one is if it has been in the archive for most of 2006 and there haven't been any updates within the past sixweeks - don't nominate it! The author may have decided it wasn't up to par with her/him or any other number of reasons. This work in progress is for one that is being updated regularly.
Okay! Yeah Nominations are open. Nominations will be accepted until February 1st, at which time myself will be tallying up the results. The winners will be announced no later than Feb. 10th, and subsequent awards will be sent out then.
