Ooh. Heh heh. This is great! I love Jubes' voice (when it's well-captured, which is not often) more than ALL the other Xmen ,I think. It's just that most ppl don't quite know what to do w/her.

The reversal of the X1 nightmare scene is delicious, and so delicately written. You have an economy of expression that serves this story well!

And that last scene is incredibly heart-warming, seeing the profound effect her trust has on Logan's poor isolated soul.

aw. It's so easy to see Logan doing this. In spite of the awful subject matter, it's a lovely story -- has a certain strong sense of humanity running thru it, fragility & strength entwined.

That's IT?? You can't stop it there! Get writing, honey!!

The images here have stuck with me for years. They're nightmarish. I hate them. This story should come with a WARNING! It's a grotesquely disturbing image that I wish I could blot out forever but never entirely leaves my imagination.

Sigh. Such a great set-up, here. I'm reading this for the 5th time, I think. ;) I'm an old fan of this story!

oh, dear ... and one of them is going to be captured or overwise terribly traumatized, right? Yep, I can see this freight train coming (i love stories like this. and you write Logan's little family dynamics so well. it's adorable!)

This is like watching one of the many dramatizations of "Titanic" or "pearl Harbor" ... you keep seeing them make mistake after mistake, and you want to yell @ them to open their eyes ... argh!

Please don't tell me they're going to find Marie dying! LOgan's going to go completely insane!

So far, I'm having a thoroughly enjoyable time with this story. I guess I'm wishing you'd have spent just a little more time developing the Valerie/Logan dynamic, just so that we can get a feel for what their relationship is like, and know his justification for falling in love with her. So far she's kind of a 2D "warm body" sort of fill-in. I wish I knew more about her, and I have a feeling she's about to be shoved into the background as the plot unfolds. Seems like she missed the chance to shine as a character!

So is Kayla going to have skin-based powers like her mother? And are Jean's flashbacks related to her own mutation (which shouldn't really have anything to do with precognition, right?) ... OR, are they a result of Jean's mutation interacting with Kayla's?? You've got me thinking!

Logan's conviction in front of Kayla that Marie must be dead, and that "habit" of "erasing" her name ... WOW! *Please*, girl, explain that at some point. I'd really like to know how he looks back at his life with her; is he resentful toward Marie? I think you have imagined something going on in his head that I haven't anticipated, and I'd love to take a peek!

...and listen: I can see the writing on the wall, here. I've found this story for the first time, but it's been 3 years since you updated and with only 2 more chapters to go, I just know you're going to leave the story off at a doozy of a cliffhanger that's gonna leave ME with a boatload of frustration!!

I KNOW that I read in your note at hte beginning of hte story that you had TWENTY-THREE chapters ALREADY typed out before you even finished posting!! So where are all the missing chapters?

PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE --- could you have mercy, and take the time to go back in your old computer files and retrieve those old chapters, and post them?? Even if the story's still unfinished, at least we'd have that to read. And if you can't do THAT, can you @ least post an outline of how you *would have* finished the story -- whatever it was you had planned in your mind. Just an outline. Surely that would only take an hour of one day out of your life!! I *have* to know how this story ends! (can you tell I'm desperate?)

argh! And what a witch this woman is! I think I'm starting to hate her.

...and I'm gonna absolutely *haunt* you if you don't update! I *knew* you were gonna do this to us! I think I should start a picket line, hang up a cheesy cardboard sign and chant: WE WANT UPDATES NOW!

This is a great companion to Katherine's story! Well done.
