In which everything comes full circle. Part angst, part happiness, and a coin-toss decides the end.I love this chapter so much that I felt a loss when I reached the end. In fact, I adore this entire story and I think I'm going to go back to the start and read it again, just to keep me going until you can update.
The way you describe her pain in the beginning is incredible, for example - "My lips part and a black bile rises up from the wound, spill out into the air like poison."
"Wait. Does he--does he actually think I'm capable of talking? I can't remember where my vocal chords are, let alone how to use them." - and that is precisely how I'd feel if Logan had just kissed me. If only... ;-)
""Kid." Probably not the best choice of nicknames right now." - true, but adorable all the same.
"Marie is with her friend Jubilee. That irritating loudmouth who drives him up a wall in practice. He'd known Brooklyn hookers who were less shrill" - hahahahahaha!
Okay, I'll stop quoting your entire story, try to stop feeling jealous that I can't write as amazingly as you, and wrap up this review:

I was sooooo happy when I saw you'd updated this story! I'm having such a busy, fun-packed weekend and yet quietly reading this story with a steaming mug of tea is one of the highlights (I know, Comic-cake is slightly bonkers when it comes to the Rogan world, and in particular, this story).
The most outstanding part was how you describe Rogue's pain at the beginning. How do you write so incredibly well that I feel like my heart is breaking for her?
"But those shelves are just dead wood, like the books they hold. Cold and indifferent pillars on a jailhouse. They're nothing." I love lines like this, they're so clever, setting this anguish-filled scene so perfectly.
"I'll beg. I'll say-I'll say he can sleep with Jean, if he-if he really needs to. It's okay. It's okay. He can do whatever he wants. As long as he stays. As long as I can look at him. And hear his voice. And maybe-maybe hold his hand". - her desperation is so clearly demonstrated here that I want to cry for her. Seriously, I just want to break down and sob. But I'm not going to because my best friend is on her way round as I type this and she might think I've gone insane when I try to explain what has upset me so much. :-)
Under normal circumstances I'd cheer when Rogue hits Jean. But in this case, I'm feeling so much agony for Rogue that I can't even be happy about that.
"Slow, Logan tells himself, not entirely sure of the word's definition. You have to take things slow with this one. Careful. Slow. Slow. Slow." - lovely line, I can imagine Wolvie having this inner battle with himself.
And I've done it again. I've written another ridiculously long review. How do you manage to make me do that? Oh, that's right, it's because you are an amazing writer. x

RoseSumner -there you are - yay!! I'm torn between being thrilled about this update and at a loss because this is the end of what is, without doubt, one of the best stories I've read on this website. And believe me, I've read a lot on this website. Anyway...
"And he thinks about people, and how easily they break. How Marie and he tore each other to shreds with the best of intentions." - amazing line and oh so true.
"I meant," Logan speaks quietly, "why do you have to go at all?" His eyes burn with an intensity that suits a very different question much better. - great line!
So please, please, please tell me you'll be writing something else soon? Because reading your updates is one of the highlights of my weekend. Does that make me sad? If it does, I don't care! I love it and you are a very, very talented writer.

Wow, this is intense, superbly written and heart-breaking. You describe the desperation of all three characters so well I felt I was suffering along with them.
There are countless powerful lines, but my fav was this rather melancholy line: “Not mine to lose or keep, not mine to fight for; he belongs to her, always have.”

What brilliantly involved writing, boarding on angsty, but with a happy ending! And that’s my fav story-structure – yay! The quiet reserve of Logan, carefully keeping his distance, creeping ever-so-slowly nearer, was perfectly communicated throughout.
Fav line (and I had quite a number to choose from): “It wasn’t until she was leaving that she realized the room had stayed level. There was no tilt, no whirlwind in her head – she was balanced, she belonged there.”

Wow – I love the tension you describe here, it’s brilliantly written and damn HOT! Yay!
This line made me shudder: “At times the tension between the two was so thick that the others would back away as if they could see it creeping threw the air like a deadly fog.”
Another fav line: “And now it was happening again but instead of seeing a friendly crush in those dark pools, lust had now replaced it, swirling so violently that she could feel it radiating from him.”
LOVED this! Your Hugh Jackman references made me smile and this whole story is simply adorable!
Ah, this is so sweet, yet wrapped in sadness too. Nice little piece. x

I like the twist that Rogue killed Jean. In fact, I think I like that a little too much! And great closing line - ha ha!
You should certainly not be unsure of this chapter. I'd go as far as to say it was my fav yet. I especially loved the beginning, when she discovered the blood - very nicely written.
“Falling in front of you.” And falling for you. - loved that line. :)
“Either you regretted it.” His gaze shifted, and the corner of his lips curled upwards. “Or chere has some serious feelings for dah wolverine.” - and I think we can all guess which it is! Yay! (Is it weird to cheer into my laptop? According to my husband, it is!)
Another great chapter! I can't wait to see where this goes next...
"So why is it that the two of us, pretty much sex goddesses, can't get two stupid, idiotic mother fuckers to stand up and take notice?” - precisely.
Wait—hairy? HANK?! - hahaha!
So...my thoughts on what's going to happen next? Hmmm...let's see...'Mr hairy-ass' appearing at said poolside in a little pair of speedos? Beat them at their own game, that's what Comic-cake says!

Yes, yes, poor Bobby...but we all know he'd be happy-ever-after with John anyway! And good for them! I liked this fic, it's unique and made me smile. x
Okay, I'll admit I struggle with Rogue and Scott together. In fact, I struggle with any pairing except Rogan in the X-men world, to the extent it makes me flinch away from my laptop screen if Rogue or Logan are with anyone else! But let's all agree that admission only reflects Comic-cake's insane mind and I just have to deal with it! That aside, this is a lovely, melancholy and intriging piece of writing. And I will follow with my fingers and toes firmly crossed that this will end up Rogan...please...? :-)
Author's Response: The ONLY, and I mean only, way I can stand it is if Logan has really, really hurt Rogue, and Scott steps in to pick of the pieces, usually because Jean is the one who helped with the hurting or because she\'s dead (post X2 fics, mostly, with that).

Author's Response: Yeah, when I wrote it everything was \"he\" with no name. I had to go back and change one or two to \"Scott\" when I was done writing it, and even that made me wince.

OMFG! The way you described how poor Rogue found them...well...I was peeping through my fingers as I read. This is exceptionally good writing to have that effect! I love it and can't wait for more... :-)
