The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
Hi there,
I'm sure you get a lot of these now a days, with your last update being long ago, but I do hope you haven't given up on this.
For once I have finally seen an author take a completly different slant on the characters need for one another as Im sure you've already have been pointed out by your many, many reviewers.
I love your style, the writing, the language- pretty much everything and so to make this list far shorter Ill tell you the ONE thing Im not really "happy" with. In your later chapers you have Logan call Marie "Little one" about 4 times too much for my personal taste. And I am being completly honest here when I say that is the one and only fault I have found in this story.
I have read and re-read this story more times than I can begin to think to count and everytime still find myself in love with everything that happens, never tiring of this story.
I've put off writing a review to this story for at least a month now due to my view that my review would be a little bit of a generic "omg i love this update plz thx" and I feel that it would have been slightly insulting to your wonderful work so far.
However I do leave this comment as I would really love to see an update. As a rule I NEVER read any stories that have no been marked complete- not even reading the summary in case I find i want to read it- due to the fact so many writers abandon their works half way through- leaving me feeling hurt and unsatified.
I can easily understand that there are indeed MANY MANY circumstances to why such things happen and am never complaining about it- but only wishing to save my own frustration.
However- your story slipped through that net. It called to me in a way I would be knocking on your door right now just to hear the ending I am that in love with it. The characterisation, the plot- EVERYTHING makes me yearn for more and still give me an inkling of hope that you will continue on with this MASTERPIECE of fanfiction.
I sincerly hope I havent offended or upset you, or anyother reviews/readers who stumble upon this and If I have it was not intentional.
Thank you for your time in reading this review and I would love even a word or two to say you have discontinued (which I pray it hasnt) or if you do plan to continue.
Indeed if you have decided to discontinue I would like to say that reading your work has been a great pleasure and I hope that everything with you is well.
And on that note I shall end and await your reply.
Thanks you once again for posting your fanfiction which I have had the great honour to enjoy.
P-i-c x
Author's Response: Partner - First, thank you for your review/note. I am always appreciative of any kind of constructive feedback. Yours and others reviewing after I had been away for so long are part of why I got myself together and posted the next chapter. So thank you for that specifically. \r\nI do plan on finishing this story. The outline is largely complete. I don\'t write in order so actually I have a number of scenes that won\'t happen until much later finished and ready to go. I will finish this story, absolutely.\r\nI really appreciate your willingness to say something about \"little one\". I had gotten that feedback from one other person and am glad to know for sure hers wasn\'t an isolated feeling. I have made some adjustments (taken a few out in already posted chapters) and addressed the issue as a whole in chapter 7. I will be interested to see what your impression of that part of the next chapter is. \r\nI am TRILLED my story slipped through your no WIP net. I actually have something similar. I will finish this story. The outline is largely completed, I know all of the major plot points, and I have bits written throughout the entire story. It has really been about time and seeing my writing as ‘not a priority’. After so soul searching I have come realize that writing is one of the things that keeps me whole. \r\nAgain, Partner, thank you\r\n~Alesia\r\n
Come on Moviemom! Put us out of our misery and wrap this puppy up!!
Author's Response: Honestly, P-I-C, I would like nothing more than to put me out of my own misery and blast my writer\'s block to smithereens. I know that sounds like such a cliche, but I can\'t dredge up plot details or dialogue to save my life. I\'m going to give myself one more week and then I\'m seriously considering sending an S.O.S. out to all my fellow writers and begging you for suggestions, bits of dialogue, ANYTHING!!! to kick the muse in the...uh, derriere...and get her cooperating again. Really. Seriously. Give me til next Sunday and if you haven\'t seen any new posts, feel free to bombard me with any ideas you have. I think my email can be accessed through my profile page here, or you could send me a private message on here as well. If anything hits home, I\'ll run with it and give you full credit - and a lifetime supply of virtual red velvet cheesecake - via the story notes. Thank you so much for still caring about this story after all this time. I will finish it, I promise. -- Wendie
I think I just died reading this. Hope hope hope to see more soon! x
Author's Response: Oh, please don\'t die! If you die, you can\'t read the next chapter!
I am just overjoyed to see your work again. Love it
Author's Response: Thank you so much! That is very kind and the support means a lot. Chapter Ten will be up this week.
Holy Moses, I am overjoyed to see that you've not only updated this but posted new work as well. I cant tell you how many times I've reread your works. I had begrudgingly accepted they would remain WIPs but I'm so happy that you've added onto this and hope to read more! I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough time, even if it means I do get some Rogan action. Thank you again for coming back to give us a taste more of your brilliance. Thank you.
Author's Response: I did something I never do and checked my phone in the middle of a movie, at the theater. In my defense, it was a matinee and there were only six of us, spread out across the room. I didn\'t disturb anyone by checking it, but I certainly did when I read this message,**squealed**, and elbowed my friend\'s drink out of her cupholder. Thank you so very much.
More!
More more more!! Please!!!!
I'm hooked already!!
Gee I'm in love with this piece of writing. I'm so glad you did a "Logan" version with some Laura! The Time jumps were great and so easy to stay with, although especially love the "always"title for the end chapter. I cant wait to see more of this fantastic stuff!
I’ll have to admit- I feel rather awful for reviewing so late. I’m always so anxious for another instalment of this fic and yet it’s taken me this long to review it.
I loved this chapter. IVE REALISED I LOVE YOUR MARIE AND SCOTT INTERACTIONS. I really do love how you write Scott. Fabulous stuff to be sure. I keep trying to second guess what the next chapter will hold and I can’t put my finger on it at all- especially now Marie is trying to join the team!!
I actually check this site every day to see if you’ve updated and as always I do read it multiple times- I’ve been abroad for a month with ever increasing levels of stress and anxiety. Reading your work helps me so much so huge thank you.
Hope you’re safe and well in this new year. Can’t wait to read more.
Words- cannot describe how hungry I am for more of this. With every line my mind has a dozen questions and theories!! The descriptions of the scene, Logan's feelings- I feel both him and I are watching his body from above not really knowing what's going on. CANT WAIT FOR MORE
Author's Response: I read this in a crowded room, and it was all I could do not to whoop with happiness. Thank uou!
OH MY GOD ANOTHER UPDATE :D
I must really be coming off as crazy but I cant help it. With each instalment of this story I'm becoming more and more addicted. I'm so glad to hear things in rl are feeling a bit better for you- you deserve mucho good karma for the joy you bring me. Hoping things only get better for you now- sending positive vibes your way. Cant wait for the next one *-* Im off to reread the whole thing (again again again
Author's Response: I\'m watching my cat, Rousseau, roll into a plate full of catnip, and I\'ve realized that it is a perfect representation of how reviews make me feel. Thanks for the kind note; I hope you realize how happy you\'ve made yet another insecure writer. So glad you liked the chapter. Thank you!
I feel really ashamed I'm only reviewing this chapter now, especially due to the rough time you're having ( Hope things get better asap!)
I really loved this chapter GODDAMMIT BOBBY
This fic I honestly believe is one of the best I've read- I cant stop thinking about it! Honestly I'm beginning to think I've a problem- but dam its a good one :3
Author's Response: Thank you for this message. You\'re absolutely wonderful. It\'s taking me a bit longer (doesn\'t it always?) to get the last tricky scenes edited, but I hope to have chapter eight up soon. I appreciate you!
Okay so after the minimum five read throughs I have this to say: YOU ARE WORTH THE WAIT.
I can kinda see how you might have had issues getting this onto paper but dear sweet baby jesus your writing is intoxicating. I love how you write the professor (squee) even with the bad situations. Also for someone who irrationally hates Jean (like I promise you its saying a lot about my personality) but I love how you write her aswell. SHE IS BELIEVABLE beyond belief. Those subtle signs people miss about an abuser.
I can honestly say I HATE reading WIPs. The waiting, the wondering, second guessing whats going to happen next for the author to take it in another direction! So I really hope you get how much I love your writing. I've three "WIP" authors I will read and wait for without question- You are now top of that list. Thank you so much for continuing to write this and I hope its brining you a bit of happiness knowing how much I adore reading it.
AND ON A SIDE NOTE YOU TALKED ABOUT WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAYS YOU ARE MORE PRECIOUS THAN LIFE (I kinda love that show- it always makes me laugh no matter how sad/bad I'm feeling)
Author's Response: I must have scanned your words a dozen times yesterday--in the middle of a hallway, in the middle of writing my research proposal, in the middle of teaching a class on the criteria for evaluating credible news sources. Just all day. You\'re the kindest person ever, and I carried a smile on my face all day because of you. Thanks so much.\r\n\r\n(And Whose Line is definitely my comfort show. It never gets old.)
