Too sad, but I guess the ending made up for it somehow, but only a little. The last lines were just perfect.
'Once again, Logan felt lonely, as he had many times again in his life. Only this time it was different. This time, he felt at peace, too. And it was all due to the very special girl he held in his arms.'
