Beautiful, my dear, simply beautiful.
Definitely a better and IMHO more accurate depiction of Marie's eventual journey to her true self. I've always thought, too, that the memories from Logan's past should have an impact on her life. The mental picture of her laying on a cold impersonal gurney, looking into the eyes of bigoted/racist impersonal Homo Sapiens is very strong, very emotionally wrenching. You pegged it dear, hit the nail right on the head!! Brava!

Great story, totally agree with you about the ending of X3, Rogue will always be my favourite X-Men, the ultimate heroine, strong, sultry, untouchable yet desired. Sensual and with a stregnth to take on any mutant, the idea that she'd take that cure was distasteful.
I'm glad you decided to write a fic where she makes a decision to keep her powers.
Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback on this one, it never sat well with me her taking the cure. She wouldn't sell herself so cheaply for someone, love is a cruel master yes, but seeing Kitty and Bobby together shouldn't have forced her hand that way I think. If anything she'd have been angry that she wasn't enough as she *was* for him.
But hey thats my opinion in the vast arguement of X3.
